Benefit has leaned into its kitsch side this year. The calendar is a bright pink hotel front with a carry handle, and the brand pitches it as a “24-day, five-star escape” with full-size favourites, minis and a few “VIP-only” accessories. In practice, it is a tour of Benefit’s best-known franchises: mascaras, brows, cheeks and the POREfessional range.

The mix matters. Retailers split the 24 doors into four full sizes, seven minis and 10 “fun-size” pieces, plus an under-eye mask, a mirror and hair clips. So while the box looks generous, most doors hold samples rather than products you would buy on their own.

What we think

At £149, each door works out at about £6.20, and the stated worth is roughly twice the price. The four full sizes are the right ones: BADgal BANG! and Benetint are among Benefit’s most famous products, and the Brow Setter and Cookie are bestsellers you would genuinely finish.

The weak spot is repetition. There are five mascaras (BADgal BANG!, BADgal Bounce, Roller Lash, Fan Fest and They’re Real!), four brow products and six POREfessional pieces. That is great if you want to find your perfect Benefit mascara, less so if you were hoping for 24 different kinds of surprise. The two brow products in shade 3 also mean the brow doors will suit light brown brows best.

Who is it for?

It suits Benefit fans, teenagers getting into make-up and anyone who wants a make-up calendar rather than a skincare one.
