NUEOS, the plastic-free oral care Subscribe & Save everyone is talking about: worth it?

An open NUEOS Starter Kit box with the Light Bath device, storage tins, floss and tablet sachets

NUEOS is the London oral care brand that pairs plastic-free toothpaste and mouthwash tablets with a red and blue LED mouthpiece called the Light Bath, and it has just gone subscription-first. Its new Subscribe & Save plans cost £27 a quarter for TriplePro or £36 for TripleBiotic, with free UK delivery, a free Starter Kit and a bonus month of tablets in your first box. Here is what you get, what it really costs per day, the cancellation catch to know about, and our frank take.

Who is behind NUEOS?

NUEOS is a trading name of Wizesmile Ltd, a London-registered company, and the brand launched in the UK in October 2025 after what it describes as 18 months of design and testing. Its FAQ says the products are designed in Switzerland and made in China. The pitch is simple: oral care has barely changed in decades, so NUEOS combines tablet-format toothpaste and mouthwash (no tubes, no plastic bottles) with an at-home LED device you use for one minute before brushing.

In 2026 the brand added a postbiotic range, now called TripleBiotic, which BDJ Team, the British Dental Journal’s magazine for dental care professionals, covered in a product news item on 19 June 2026. Then, on 8 October 2026, NUEOS announced it was moving to a subscription-first model, with quarterly deliveries replacing its old bi-monthly refill plan.

How the NUEOS ritual works

The routine has five steps. You floss, crunch a toothpaste tablet until it foams, pop the Light Bath in your mouth for one minute, brush with a wet toothbrush (manual or electric) using the foam already in your mouth, then chew a mouthwash tablet and spit without rinsing. Each sachet holds 62 tablets, which NUEOS says is one month of morning and night use.

There are two ranges to choose from:

  • NUEOS: TriplePro Whitening Toothpaste Tabs, £6 a month one-off. Fluoride (1,000ppm), hydroxyapatite and PAP, a peroxide-free whitening ingredient, plus xylitol and papain.
  • NUEOS: TriplePro Sensitive Mouthwash Tabs, £6 a month one-off. Alcohol-free, with zinc citrate, xylitol and hydroxyapatite.
  • NUEOS: TripleBiotic toothpaste and mouthwash tabs, £8 each a month one-off. The same idea with three strains of Lactobacillus postbiotic added, aimed at gum balance.

The Light Bath itself uses visible blue light, which NUEOS says works with PAP to lift surface stains, and red light, which it says supports gum health. The brand describes it as CE marked and non-UV. Those benefits are NUEOS’s own claims rather than results from an independent trial, and NUEOS itself says the system supports your routine and does not replace your dentist.

What Subscribe & Save includes

Both plans are 25% cheaper than buying the same tablets one-off, and delivery is free (one-off orders pay £3.95, according to the TriplePro page). On top of that, NUEOS adds a gift schedule:

  • First delivery: four months of tablets instead of three, plus the free Starter Kit (Light Bath with travel case, floss tin with refill and bathroom storage tins). The Starter Kit sells for £59 on its own.
  • Second delivery: a Whitening Booster Gel Pen.
  • First anniversary: a mystery thank-you gift.

You can skip, delay, bring forward, swap range or cancel in your account, and NUEOS says it emails you before every payment. Price rises come with at least 30 days’ notice. Delivery covers England, Wales and Scotland only, so Northern Ireland readers are left out for now.

The catch: cancelling before your second box

“No minimum term” is true, but read clause 9.5 of the subscription terms before you sign up. The free Starter Kit and bonus month are an introductory offer for people who stay to a second paid delivery. If you cancel before that second payment, NUEOS has the right to charge an “Introductory Offer Balance”: the retail value of your first delivery minus the £27 or £36 you paid. With the Starter Kit alone priced at £59, that could be a meaningful sum.

To be fair to NUEOS, the safeguards are reasonable. It must email you the exact amount first and wait at least 14 days, you can send the kit back instead of paying (at your own postage cost), and the clause does not apply if you use your 14-day cooling-off right or the product is faulty. The TriplePro page FAQ also says the kit is yours to keep “whatever you decide afterwards”, which sits awkwardly next to clause 9.5, so treat the terms as the version that counts. In practice, this is really a six-month commitment if you want the free kit with no strings: two quarterly payments, £54 on TriplePro or £72 on TripleBiotic.

One more good sign for longer-standing customers: the FAQ says the old bi-monthly plan’s 12-month minimum commitment no longer applies.

Our take: is it worth it?

For the right person, yes. The price per day is honest and easy to understand (29p or 36p), the free Starter Kit is a genuine perk worth £59, the tablets solve a real annoyance (no squeezed tubes, no plastic mouthwash bottles, no liquids rules in hand luggage), and the formula covers the essentials, with fluoride in every toothpaste tablet. Customer feedback on NUEOS’s own Loox reviews averages 4.5 out of 5 from 51 reviews on 15 October 2026, with plenty of comments about teeth feeling cleaner and the routine being easy to travel with.

The buzz is still small, though. Fifty-odd reviews and a trade magazine mention are a long way from a viral sell-out, and the lower-rated reviews say useful things: some people saw no whitening after a few weeks, one did not find the mouthwash tablets to their taste, and one first-generation Light Bath owner mentioned fiddly switching and short battery life (NUEOS has since released a second-generation device with a travel case). We have not tested the system ourselves, and the light benefits rest on the brand’s own claims.

Price is the other honest point. At £108 a year for TriplePro, or £144 for TripleBiotic, you are paying many times what a supermarket fluoride toothpaste and mouthwash cost. You are buying convenience, less plastic and the Light Bath ritual, not a cheaper way to brush.

It suits you if you like gadgets and rituals, want to cut bathroom plastic, travel a lot, and are happy to commit to at least two deliveries. If you only want to try toothpaste tablets, buy a month of tabs one-off first. If you would rather leave your routine alone, a fluoride toothpaste and a good brush remain the basics your dentist will recommend.
