Boxcitement – January 2020: Sleepy time box of delights

The first box of 2020 from the team at Boxcitement has a distinctly dreamy theme. The idea behind Boxcitement is that they create themed collections of stationery, accessories, jewellery and homewares each month, working with a group of specialist manufacturers who bring the theme to life. Every month is completely different, so there will always be something unusual to look forward to.

What’s in the box this month?

  • Sweet dreams enamel pin
  • Set of greetings cards and envelopes
  • A counting sheep stationery set, notepad and washi tape
  • Panda eyes sleep mask
  • Star-gazer hair clip
  • A dream catcher bookmark
  • A tube of sleepyhead aromatherapy bath salts.

The highlights

The January box arrived at the perfect time, as I was suffering with pretty bad back pain. Straight away I ran myself a bath and poured the whole tube in. I had the best sleep the night after, so they definitely did the trick. I loved the test tube packaging and the bath salts themselves smelt delicious; herbal but not overpowering.

Funnily enough I have a set of very similar hair clips that I bought from a small shop so this was a lovey addition. The ones I have were just plain gold and very pale pink, so considering I wear a lot of blue I’ve definitely had a lot of use of this already. It’s a really substantial clip and holds a lot of hair (which is handy for me!)

This wooden dream catcher is supposed to be a bookmark but I’ve actually given it to my son to use in his room as it’s small enough but still really pretty (without being overly girly). It’s been working well and you can tell it’s a good quality item.

Something else my son has stolen is this mask! It’s really cute and fun, as well as being very comfortable. I already have a sleep mask so I didn’t need this one, and my son think’s it’s hilarious. It’s a fun addition and one I am sure will get used a lot.

These cards are really lovely, and a great addition to the box. I’m thinking of framing the Dream Big one and I’ve already used the thank you one! The stationery/cards.gift wrap sets you get in Boxcitement boxes are always great quality and I can always find a use for them.

This pin pretty much sums up how January has felt for me. It feels like this month will never end and I’d be quite happy if I could sleep through all of it to be honest! It’s a really good quality pin and I can’t wait to wear it.

I’m yet to find a use for the stationery set, but I love the theme and the washi tape is a nice addition too. The pad is the perfect size for my handbag so it might become my emergency shopping list pad (anything to stop me from typing notes into my phone!)

Our score: 10.0/ 10

This is another great box from the team at Boxcitement. I was a little sad to not have a piece of jewellery (I am jewellery obsessed) this month but the pin and hair clip more than make up for it. The bath salts were lovely and were the big highlight for me. My son definitely enjoyed a few bits from the box this month and it was nice to share these with him. I can't wait to see what's in store in the next box.
