Boxcitement – April 2019: Sweetie Pie

I was wondering if the team at Boxcitement would approach their April box with a take on Spring or Easter or even bank holidays so it was a bit of a surprise to see a ‘sweet’ theme. I’m not normally a fan but I think their unique take on the subject has won me over!

What’s in the box?

  • A beautiful ‘Home Sweet Home’ cotton tea towel
  • A Love Heart enamel pin badge
  • A handy mini tin of clips and pins
  • A bracelet featuring natural stone ‘sweetie’ beads
  • A cute ceramic doughnut charm
  • A set of postcards
  • An eraser in the shape of a fun lollipop
  • A mini notebook

The highlights

I was really impressed with the contents of this month’s box. In particular I loved the tea towel. As you can see, it’s a bit of a beauty…

It’s quite difficult to capture it fully but it’s a great addition and one that you would pay around £5-£10 if you bought it in a shop. I was also very impressed as it matches our kitchen colour scheme!

I’m a big fan of jewellery so I was really pleased to see this bracelet in the box. In fact I wore it out the day the box arrived and it had lots of compliments. I have quite large wrists so I did need to add a small extension chain but that was my only issue; you’d definitely pay around £10 to buy this on the high street.

Absolutely charming

I haven’t quite worked out when or how I will wear this charm but I really like it. Its high quality and a great fun addition to the Box this month. I also really loved the enamel pin. These aren’t often included in a Boxcitement Box and I do love a pin so this has already been worn a lot! If you were to buy this you’d pay £5-£8 so it’s definitely a cost effective box this month.

The notebook is always a good addition, and this one didn’t fail to disappoint. I also liked the mini tin with pins in. It didn’t photograph that well but its already been added to my handbag and pulled out a few times at work! Last but not least I also thought the lollipop eraser was a brilliant addition; it made me chuckle and will definitely be used by me or my six year old son (I just have to make sure he remembers its not a real one!)

Our score: 9.8/ 10

The only reason I marked the score down by 1 point was because I can appreciate that the 'sweetie' theme might not be to everyone's tastes. But I am being really picky; the pin badge, tea towel and bracelet justified the cost of this month's box alone and once again I would heartily recommend Boxcitement if you're looking to get a treat for yourself (or someone important to you).
