Spring is springing and Gus & Bella, the subscription box of goodies for cats and their people, has come up with a lovely mix of seasonal goodies to celebrate all things springlike.
The box, as usual, feels pleasingly solid, and inside there’s a menu leaflet that tells you all about the different items inside. This is especially nice because they frequently feature items such as toys and decor from small independent and British producers. It’s also a great way to find out about the new food items for your kitty.
First of all, edibles for your cat. There are two cans of Untamed Cat Food. This is a brand that operates on a subscription model, but this is a great opportunity to try it out. Looking at the website, this is extremely high quality food. It’s all-natural, no grains, or sugars, ethically farmed and fished, and is basically meat in gravy or jelly – both kinds are here. Given how much commercial pet food is full of nasty fillers and meat byproducts I’m very pleased to discover a new high-quality food for my (rather spoilt) cat.
The other edible isn’t food, but a rather clever Grow Your Own Cat Grass Kit. It’s pretty common for cats to eat grass, it can help with digestion and fur balls, but you don’t necessarily want your cat chowing down on anything in the garden. And it may be that your kitty prefers staying in the house. This little pot has everything you need to grow a nice little pot of completely safe cat grass, and it looks very cute as well!
After dinner time comes play time. There is a Feather Teaser, which cats love to pounce on when you wave them around. There’s also a Wool Catnip Bumble Bee Play Ball which is perfect for kitty to bat around, and is also very cute indeed.
Finally, a genius product called King Cat Play Bubbles. Yes, it’s pet-safe bubbles! Bubbles are lots of fun, cats love chasing them as much as children, but the usual ones you buy are made from soap, and you probably don’t want that getting on your cat’s paws. These, however, or completely safe, non-toxic, and contain catnip extract to give an extra fun dimension to playtime. These are perfect for getting out in the garden to play with your cat, now (hopefully!) the weather will be getting brighter.
Now for the human treats. There’s a pack of Eton Mess Candy Kittens, which are absolutely delicious vegan gummy sweets. The strawberry and cream flavour is perfect for Spring too. There is also an adorable Pusheen Hair Brush. This hand-size brush is the perfect size to keep in your handbag or sponge bag, and it’s very comfortable to use. Extra points for the cute design!
There’s also this beautiful Spring Fling Meow Picture Frame. This has been designed especially for this Gus & Bella box, and it’s perfect for a picture of your best feline friend. It’s also made from wood, so feels like excellent quality, not flimsy at all. This is such a lovely thing to have on display.
