Gousto, Mindful Chef and 4 more box deals are already live before Black Friday 2026

Black Friday falls on 27 November 2026, but six subscription box welcome offers are already running. Gousto takes 50% off a first box, Mindful Chef 30% off four orders, SimplyCook sells a first box for £5, Abel & Cole halves a first veg box, Pact Coffee cuts two coffee orders and Grubby takes 30% off a first box. None of the brands badges these as Black Friday deals yet, and all of them are for new customers only. Here is what each one offers on 31 October. Gousto: 50% off the first box, then six boxes of savings

Gousto’s homepage shows 50% off the first box, 40% off the second and 20% off boxes three to six. It puts the price at £3.20 a portion on a five-recipe, four-person box, or £1.60 a portion with the new customer discount. Both figures exclude the £3.99 delivery fee and any recipe surcharges. New customers also get free next day delivery if they finish sign-up before 11.59am on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday or Tuesday, subject to area and capacity. The offer was cut from eight discounted boxes to six earlier this month, as we reported in our Gousto November 2026 offer article.

Mindful Chef: 30% off your first four orders

Mindful Chef’s homepage offers 30% off your first four orders and free delivery on box one, with no commitment and the option to skip at any time. It quotes meals from £3.15 a portion for new customers, against £4.50 a portion for existing ones. The discount runs across four boxes.

SimplyCook: a first box for £5

SimplyCook advertises a first box for £5 including postage, against a usual £12.98. After that the page quotes £3 a week, based on a box of four recipe kits for £9.99 plus £1.99 postage each month, and you can change, pause or cancel at any time. It is the lowest outlay of the six, though the box is built around flavour pots, not a full set of fresh ingredients. See the SimplyCook £5 box.

Abel & Cole: half price on your first and fourth veg box

Abel & Cole’s homepage offers 50% off your first and fourth Fruit and Veg Box with the code VEGBOX26. The fourth box is only discounted after two full price deliveries, and each order must arrive within four weeks of the last one or the offer expires. Christmas and limited edition boxes are excluded, and the £3.75 delivery fee still applies. This is the only deal here for a veg box, not a recipe kit. See the Abel & Cole veg box offer.

Pact Coffee: 25% or 40% off, plus a free cafetière

Pact’s homepage banner says new subscribers get 25% off two orders, and it advertises 20% off every order with a subscription. Its dedicated offer pages go further. One shows 40% off your first two orders, and another offers a free cafetière worth £26.95 with your first order while stocks last. Pact shows different amounts on different pages, so check the total in your basket before you pay. You can reschedule, skip, pause or cancel a subscription at any time. Grubby: 30% off plus free brownies

Grubby’s order page shows 30% off the first box plus free brownies, then 15% off boxes two to six when they are delivered within 35 days of the first, and free delivery on box one. What we think: which first box is the best deal?

On the numbers each brand publishes, the cheapest first box is SimplyCook at £5, followed by Gousto at £1.60 a portion. Gousto is also the one with the longest tail of discounts, six boxes in all, so it suits you if you want to keep ordering. Mindful Chef’s £3.15 a portion buys dinners made with British meat and free-range chicken, Grubby’s first box works out at about £5.25 a serving after the discount, and Abel & Cole and Pact are for veg and coffee rather than dinners.

The catch with every offer here is the same. These are welcome discounts for new customers, so they only help you once, and the prices after the discount ends are higher. Black Friday itself may bring better offers. Gousto, Mindful Chef, SimplyCook and Pact all say you can skip, pause or cancel, so there is little to lose by starting now. Check the final price in your basket, as surcharges and delivery fees are added at checkout.
