Grubby, the plant-based recipe box, is delivering five recipes from Professor Tim Spector’s new cookbook Good Mood Food from 29 October to 3 December 2026. Grubby says it is the only place to get them as meal kits. On 31 October, a two-recipe box costs £29.98 and a five-recipe box £59.95 before offers, and three of the five dishes carry a small surcharge.
Grubby x Tim Spector: the five Good Mood Food recipes
Spector, the co-founder of the gut health company ZOE, wrote about the range in his Gut Feelings newsletter on 26 October, in partnership with Grubby. Each kit arrives with pre-portioned ingredients and a recipe card, and Grubby adds the gut and mood benefits of each dish. Here are the five, with the plant points Spector gives and the fibre per serving on Grubby’s order page:
- Fragrant Thai Green Curry with Tofu and Brainy Grains: 13.75 plant points, 26g fibre, 30 minutes.
- Miso Tofu Traybake with Black Beans and Kimchi: 8.75 plant points, 17g fibre, 40 minutes.
- Zingy Tofu and Fennel Casserole with Pumpkin Seeds: 7.75 plant points, 14g fibre, 40 minutes.
- Lentil and Mushroom Linguine: 7.25 plant points, 16g fibre, 25 minutes.
- Creamy Hispi Cabbage and Mushroom Pasta: 3.75 plant points, 12g fibre, 30 minutes.

Spector suggests starting with the curry. Its grain mix of red rice, black barley, quinoa and two kinds of wheat is where much of the fibre comes from, and he says cooking two or three of the five in a week, with nuts, seeds, fruit and a fermented food, makes 30 plants a week look easy. The curry contains soya, wheat and barley, according to Grubby’s allergen list.
How the tie-up works
Earlier this year, Grubby worked with ZOE on a range of dishes reviewed by ZOE’s head nutritionist, Dr Federica Amati. This one is tied to Spector’s book. The Grocer reported on 27 October that Grubby is giving away 500 free copies of the book through the campaign. The Checkout adds that customers also get a taster of ZOE’s Daily 30 supplement. Spector calls it a limited-time opportunity to try the recipes with everything delivered.

What does the Good Mood Food box cost?
On 31 October, Grubby’s order page lists these meal kit prices for two people, before any offer:
- Two recipes: £29.98, or £7.50 a serving.
- Three recipes: £39.99, or £6.67 a serving.
- Four recipes: £49.96, or £6.25 a serving.
- Five recipes: £59.95, or £6.00 a serving.
Three of the new dishes add a surcharge to the box: £2.98 for the Thai green curry, and £1.98 each for the miso tofu traybake and the tofu and fennel casserole. The linguine and the hispi cabbage pasta add nothing. Order all five and the box comes to £66.89 before offers.
The first box is where the discount sits. The order page shows 30% off plus free brownies on the first box, then 15% off boxes two to six when delivered within 35 days, and free delivery on the first box. It is for new customers, one per household. On the two-recipe box, 30% off £29.98 comes to about £20.99.
The free book code
Spector’s newsletter gives readers a code, GOODMOODFOOD, to enter at checkout. It is meant to give a free copy of Good Mood Food to the first 100 new UK customers who use it. The same terms say a 15% discount applies to five boxes delivered from 35 days after the first delivery, and that the offer ends on 28 November 2026. Grubby also sells the book on its order page for £30.

What we think: worth it for a first box
This is a good moment to try Grubby if you are curious about plant-based cooking, because the first box is cheaper and the recipes come from a book that has a following. The surcharges are small, and the two dishes without one, the linguine and the hispi pasta, keep a box close to the base price. If you only want to try the recipes, a two-recipe box with 30% off is the cheapest way in.
It will suit you less if you want meat or fish on the menu, as Grubby is fully plant-based, or if you are cooking for a family, since the boxes above serve two. The surcharged curry is also the dish with the most plant points, so the standout recipe costs a little more. The range is limited: the last delivery is 3 December, and the earliest delivery on the order page is 5 November, with a cut-off of 1 November.
