The November 2026 book box themes are out, and there is something for every kind of reader. Illumicrate goes for adult dark fantasy with “Saints and Sinners”, its romance box Afterlight heads to the Arctic with “Polar Opposites” and its quarterly Starbright box brings a cosy sci-fi pick. At FairyLoot, it is “Ruinous Rivalries” for YA, “Halos & Hellfire” for Adult, “Crimson Pact” for Romantasy and “Call of the Wolves” for the quarterly Epic box.
As usual, the book titles stay secret until the boxes land, so here is what each theme promises, what each plan costs and how long the waitlists are. Start with the Illumicrate Box page if dark fantasy with extras is your thing.
Illumicrate November 2026: Saints and Sinners
Illumicrate revealed its November Fantasy theme on 3 October. The book is an adult dark fantasy, the first in a duology, about a healer branded a heretic for helping women control their own fertility. Banished to an isolated town to await a trial, she is placed in the hands of a pious priest who is hiding a dangerous secret of his own. Illumicrate pitches it to fans of social commentary in a fantasy setting, found family and, in its own words, “deeply unserious heroines and hot priests”.
The Illumicrate exclusive edition is a royal hardback with a redesigned cover, a reverse jacket showing a trade variant, foiled artwork on the hardback and endpapers, a digitally printed fore edge, bonus content and a bound-in author letter with a digital signature.
The full box adds four items inspired by the theme and by Dragonlance and The Lord of the Rings, including a reading journal. The content warnings list is long (it includes child abuse, domestic abuse, gore and incest), so read it on the Saints and Sinners reveal post before you commit. Source: Illumicrate.
On 17 October 2026, the Illumicrate Box (book plus items) costs £31 a month and the Illumicrate Book Only plan £22. Both are waitlist only, and the Illumicrate page currently shows a wait of 20 to 28 weeks.
Afterlight November 2026: Polar Opposites
Afterlight, Illumicrate’s book-only romance plan, has picked a standalone adult contemporary romance for November. After a bad break-up, a photographer travels to the Arctic to photograph polar bears and ends up sharing a private wing with a grumpy wilderness lodge owner. Think forced proximity, snow storms and a hot tub. Afterlight flags an M/F romance with a South Asian biracial lead and explicit scenes, and lists its content warnings in the Polar Opposites reveal.

The exclusive edition is a B-format hardback with a redesigned cover, a reversible dust jacket, printed edges and illustrated endpapers, and it is hand signed by the author. The Afterlight Romance plan costs £22 a month, with a waitlist of 8 to 12 weeks according to Illumicrate. Source: Illumicrate.
New this month: Illumicrate’s Illumicrate + Afterlight Book Combo puts both books in one box from November, for £38 plus delivery. It is book only, rolls out gradually and gives priority to readers who already have both subscriptions.
Starbright November 2026
Starbright is Illumicrate’s quarterly science fiction box, and the November book is the first in an adult cosy sci-fi duology: a reclusive biologist meets a living spaceship pilot, across alternating timelines, in a world where water is scarce and the air is poisonous. The royal hardback edition has a redesigned cover, printed edges and a digital signature from the author.

The Starbright Science Fiction plan costs £22 a quarter (February, May, August and November). Open spots go to the waitlist first, and Illumicrate shows a wait of 4 to 12 weeks. Source: Illumicrate.
FairyLoot YA November 2026: Ruinous Rivalries
FairyLoot’s YA theme is all about ancient rivals and unlikely alliances. The book of the month follows the heir to a powerful magical family who has to team up with her family’s oldest rivals when their world is threatened. The full box carries items inspired by Dire Bound, a multi-fandom Chloe Gong item (These Violent Delights, Immortal Longings and Coldwire), The Night Circus and the book of the month, and FairyLoot has confirmed a sword replica.
The exclusive edition has a redesigned foiled cover, a reversible dust jacket, sprayed edges, art on the hardcover and endpapers, and a bound-in author letter with a digital signature. The YA Book + Items plan costs £27.50 a month and the YA Book-Only plan £20, both charged on the 1st. Source: FairyLoot.

FairyLoot Adult November 2026: Halos & Hellfire
The Adult Book-Only theme pits angels against demons: a knight has to team up with an angel and a demon, and work out which side to trust. The exclusive edition has the usual FairyLoot touches (redesigned foiled cover, reversible dust jacket, sprayed edges, bonus content and an author letter). Optional page overlays will be sold as an £8 add-on from 6 November to active Adult subscribers, Combo plans included. The Adult Book-Only plan costs £21 a month, charged on the 5th, and is for readers aged 18+. Source: FairyLoot.
FairyLoot Romantasy November 2026: Crimson Pact
“Crimson Pact” brings a magical academy, elemental magic and a forbidden mentor and mentee romance. The heroine is an assassin who risks everything for a place in the Guild, only to be pulled into a game of power and desire by its mysterious leader. The edition gets the same treatment, with art on the hardcover and endpapers. The Romantasy Book-Only plan costs £21 a month, charged on the 4th, 18+. Source: FairyLoot.

FairyLoot Epic Quarter 4: Call of the Wolves
The quarterly Epic box goes big: feuding clans, deadly monsters and a war on the horizon, with a father desperate to protect a daughter whose power is awakening. This edition is signed by the author, with a redesigned cover, a reversible dust jacket, art on the hardcover and endpapers and sprayed edges. The Epic Book-Only plan costs £25 a quarter and is for readers aged 18+. Source: FairyLoot.
One catch applies to every FairyLoot plan: new subscription spots are closed for now, and FairyLoot asks new readers to join its waitlist for an invitation when spaces open.
Also this month: the Terry Pratchett Death Collection
If you would rather buy than wait for a subscription spot, Illumicrate’s Terry Pratchett Death Collection is a big one for Discworld fans: royal hardback editions of all five Death books (Mort, Reaper Man, Soul Music, Hogfather and Thief of Time), made with the Terry Pratchett Estate, Gollancz and Transworld. It costs £135, the pre-order closes on 26 November 2026 at 3pm, and Illumicrate expects to ship it in May or June 2027. That is a long wait, so if you want to revisit Death in the meantime, the Mort audiobook narrated by Sian Clifford, with Peter Serafinowicz and Bill Nighy is on Audible.
