Lidl’s 2026 advent calendars start at 11p a door with Lidl Plus, and Kinder is 19p

Lidl’s cheapest advent calendars cost 11p a door with a Lidl Plus account: Maltesers at £2.70 and Galaxy at £2.75, both for 24 doors. The Kinder calendar is 19p a door at £4.49, and the Celebrations tree is 33p at £7.99. The Lidl Plus prices run from 1 to 20 November 2026, and without the app the chocolate calendars cost 50p to £2 more.

Which Lidl advent calendar is cheapest per door?

Lidl lists 12 advent calendars in its advent calendar range. The table ranks them by Lidl Plus price per door. Per door is the price divided by the number of doors.

Prices checked on 2 November 2026 on lidl.co.uk. The chocolate calendars have 24 doors, the Scented Candle one has 25 candles, so its per-door price is divided by 25. Lidl also sells a Rosewood advent calendar for dogs at £3.99 with no Lidl Plus price, which we have left out of the table.

How much does Lidl Plus save?

Lidl says its Lidl Plus offers are valid from 1 to 20 November 2026, with the discount applied to each item you buy. The biggest cut is on Kinder: £2 off, from £6.49 to £4.49, or 31%. Most of the chocolate calendars lose 50p or £1, and the candle and LEGO calendars lose £5 each.

Without Lidl Plus, the cheapest calendars are still Maltesers and Galaxy at 14p a door (£3.29), followed by Terry’s at 15p (£3.49). Kinder goes up to 27p a door, and Celebrations to 37p.

Which calendar gives you the most chocolate?

The cheapest door is not the biggest door. Maltesers works out at about 4.5g of chocolate a door, against about 9.6g for the Cadbury Heroes calendar and about 10g for Reese’s. Dividing the Lidl Plus price by the weight on each page, Reese’s is cheapest at £2.24 per 100g, then Cadbury Heroes at £2.39, Maltesers and Galaxy at £2.50, Terry’s at £2.82, Kinder at £3.12 and Celebrations at £3.72.

The Kinder calendar holds 24 mini bars of about 6g each. The Celebrations calendar is the tree-shaped one with 24 windows, according to Wingsmart’s listing, which makes each door about 9g.

How does Lidl compare with Sainsbury’s and Tesco?

For Kinder, the gap is a penny. Sainsbury’s sells the same 144g Kinder Chocolate Minis calendar at £4.50 with a Nectar card and £6.50 without, against £4.49 and £6.49 at Lidl. Galaxy at Lidl, £2.75 with Lidl Plus, matches the Clubcard price we found at Tesco on 1 November. On the two cheapest chocolate calendars, Sainsbury’s lists Maltesers and Galaxy at £2.50 with a Nectar card (£3.75 without), a shade under Lidl Plus at about 10p a door.

The cheapest chocolate calendar we have found anywhere is still Cadbury’s Dairy Milk 90g at £2.00 in Asda, which is 8p a door. Our price per door ranking has Cadbury, Galaxy, Kinder Bueno and Lindt side by side. Lidl does not beat that, but its cheapest calendars come within 3p a door of it.

What about the books, candles and LEGO?

The Story Book calendar is a calendar of 24 books, one story for each day, in three versions: The Nightmare Before Christmas, Stitch 5-Minute Stories and Spidey And His Amazing Friends 5-Minute Stories. It costs £3.99 with Lidl Plus, or £4.99 without, which makes it 17p a door and the cheapest non-chocolate option.

The Scented Candle calendar has 25 mini candles of 50g each, each with a stated burn time of 14 hours, including one for Christmas Day. At £19.99 with Lidl Plus, that is 80p a candle. For something else, the LEGO Disney Princess and Star Wars calendars are £19.99 at Lidl with Lidl Plus, and we compared them with LEGO’s price in our Lidl LEGO advent calendar report.

What we think

Lidl Plus prices are keen on the small chocolate calendars with a bite-sized door, though Sainsbury’s Nectar prices on Maltesers and Galaxy are a few pence lower, and the Kinder discount is real. The Lidl Plus price matters here: without it, Kinder is 27p a door, and Sainsbury’s matches Lidl’s price only with a Nectar card, since both stores charge about £6.50 otherwise. For the most chocolate for your money, Reese’s at £5.49 and Cadbury Heroes at £5.49 give you the most grams per pound.

The catches are the limits. Lidl says its offers last until 20 November and are subject to availability, and the pages we checked say “available in store now” with no online basket. Check your local store before you make a trip, and note that every discount here depends on the Lidl Plus app.
