LEGO advent calendars 2026: all five sets compared

LEGO has five advent calendars for 2026: City and Friends at £22.99, and Star Wars, Marvel and Disney Princess at £29.99. Each one hides a mini-build behind every door, with between 211 and 317 pieces: Marvel has the most pieces, while City gives you the best price per piece. There is no Harry Potter calendar this year. Here is what you get for your money, set by set, and which one we would pick.

Five calendars, two prices

LEGO City Advent Calendar 2026

The LEGO City Advent Calendar 2026 is the best value of the five on pieces: 252 for £22.99, or about 9.1p a piece. It is also one of two sets for ages 5+, which makes it the safest pick for younger children. Expect a Christmas workshop scene with Santa, festive vehicles and minifigures, going by the box art.

LEGO Friends Advent Calendar 2026

The LEGO Friends Advent Calendar 2026 is the same price as City but has the fewest pieces (211, about 10.9p each). The box shows a winter campfire scene with the Friends characters. It comes with three mini-dolls and six mini animals, according to LEGO. Pick it for a child who already collects Friends sets.

LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar 2026

The LEGO Star Wars Advent Calendar 2026 has 293 pieces for £29.99 (about 10.2p each) and four figures, with a Mandalorian theme this year. As every year, it mixes ship micro-builds with characters, which is what fans of the yearly series want. It is rated 4.3 out of 5 by LEGO customers on the official page.

LEGO Marvel Advent Calendar 2026

The LEGO Marvel Advent Calendar 2026 has the most pieces of the five (317 for £29.99, about 9.5p each). The box features Wolverine, Spider-Man and Doctor Doom, and it is rated 5 out of 5 on the official page so far.

LEGO Disney Princess Advent Calendar 2026

The LEGO Disney Princess Advent Calendar 2026 has 290 pieces for £29.99 (about 10.3p each), eight characters, and is suitable from age 5. It is the lowest-rated calendar of the five on the official page (2.3 out of 5, from a handful of early reviews), so read the reviews before you buy.

What we think: which one to pick?

Marvel has the most pieces (317), but City is the best price per piece (9.1p, against 9.5p for Marvel); Friends is the weakest on that measure (10.9p). For a five-year-old, City is the obvious choice. For older Marvel or Star Wars fans, the extra £7 is worth it for the characters alone. A LEGO calendar is a toy that keeps being played with after Christmas, unlike chocolate, but remember the pieces are small: check the age on the box for younger siblings. We have not tested a discount code on any of the calendars.
