Hotel Chocolat advent calendars 2026: which to buy?

Hotel Chocolat has 11 advent calendars on sale for 2026, from £8.95 for the children’s calendars to £80 for The Grand Advent Calendar, which includes alcohol. In between you will find five single-chocolate calendars at £13.95, the Everything and For Two calendars at £29.95 and a drinking chocolate calendar for Velvetiser fans at £40. On 10 October 2026 the official Hotel Chocolat advent calendar page showed all 11 in stock. Here is the full range and which one we would pick for whom.

The Grand Advent Calendar: what is inside?

Hotel Chocolat calls it its most generous calendar. Behind the 24 large doors you will find thick, solid chocolate slabs, 50ml servings of Velvetised Cream with vodka, chocolate-filled cracker decorations for the tree, salted caramel snowflakes, solid chocolate reindeer, its bobble-hat penguins and a drinking chocolate sachet or two, according to the brand. The box is big: 47cm by 45.5cm by 47cm. Because of the vodka cream, it is one for adults only. Some third-party sites reported it as out of stock; on 10 October 2026 the official page showed it in stock.

The Velvetiser calendar: hot chocolate every day

Each of the 24 doors hides a full-size single-serve drinking chocolate sachet, with 16 recipes in total (some bestsellers appear twice), from Dark 85% to Vanilla-White, Salted Caramel, Peanut Butter, Chilli, Mint and a limited-edition Pumpkin Spice, according to Hotel Chocolat. It is designed for the brand’s Velvetiser machine, so it makes most sense if you already own one.

Everything, For Two and the single-chocolate calendars

The Everything calendar mixes 24 pralines, truffles and liqueurs, including a Salted Espresso Martini truffle, so it contains a little alcohol. The For Two calendar is alcohol-free and puts two identical mini truffles behind each door, with flavours such as Salted Caramel Cream, Gingerbread Praline and Madagascan Vanilla. The five £13.95 calendars each hide a solid chocolate shape (reindeer, snowmen, penguins, spruces) in one recipe: Milk, Dark, Caramel, White or 45% Nutmilk, the last one made without milk.

The children’s calendars

Two £8.95 calendars feature the Up to Snow Good penguins and snowmen: one in 40% milk chocolate and one in vegan 45% Nutmilk, with a bigger chocolate for Christmas Eve, according to Hotel Chocolat.

What we think: which one should you buy?

Best for a chocolate lover who has everything: The Grand at £80, if alcohol is welcome.
Best for sharing: the For Two calendar at £29.95, no squabbling over the morning chocolate.
Best for variety: the Everything calendar at £29.95, at about £1.25 a door.
Best value: the £13.95 single-chocolate calendars, about 58p a door, though 125g is not a lot of chocolate across 24 days.
Best for Velvetiser owners: the drinking chocolate calendar at £40, about £1.67 a cup.
Best for children: the £8.95 Up to Snow Good calendars, including a vegan one.

Hotel Chocolat is not cheap per gram compared with supermarket calendars, but you are paying for higher-cacao recipes and a more grown-up selection. We have not tasted the 2026 calendars.
