March’s box arrived last week and it has a fantastic charitable theme to it, so let’s take a closer look at what’s inside, shall we?

One Sage and Apple Gin (70cl / 43% ABV)

Crafted exclusively for Craft Gin Club members, this month’s featured gin is an extra special one. The One Sage and Apple Gin has been developed by The One Brand, a revolutionary business that supports vital charities every step of the way in association with The One Foundation. Created by Duncan Goose, The One Brand has raised over £19 million so far to support clean water projects across the world, and this latest product, The One Sage and Apple Gin, is another way for essential funds to be raised.

This gin is bursting with a complex blend of botanicals which includes Juniper, Angelica Root, Cassia Bark, Coriander Seed, Liquorice Root, Nutmeg, Orris Root, Lemon Peel, Sweet Orange, Bitter Orange, Fresh Sage and Russet Apple. It is smooth, wonderfully aromatic and has a clean and juicy zest to it thanks to the Russet Apples, which is balanced nicely by the Sage. It works well with any kind of crisp Tonic Water, and adding some Apple slices to your G&T will further bring out all of those lovely fruity flavours!

Gusto Organic Fiery Ginger with Chipotle and DASH Cucumber Water

I was pleased to find two rather unusual and different drinks in the box. The Gusto Organic Fiery Ginger is a tasty soft drink with a spicy Chipotle kick – I wasn’t sure about it when I first tried it but it’s definitely grown on me and the company uses only natural, organic and fairtrade ingredients in all of their products.

The DASH Cucumber Water, on the other hand, is a more traditionally refreshing drink that can be enjoyed on its own or paired with gin for a refreshing twist on the old G&T. DASH is a company who reduce food waste by using fruit and vegetables that are ‘ugly’ or the wrong size for supermarkets, which is great to see!

Lixir Tonic Waters in Refreshingly Light and Rhubarb & Ginger

Next up, I found two bottles of tonic waters from Lixir. There are two flavours; one is the classic Refreshingly Light tonic and the other is subtly flavoured with Rhubarb & Ginger for a fruity twist to your favourite gin cocktail.

Extras: Lemon Slices, Chika’s Chilli & Lime Nut Mix and Divine Smooth Dark Chocolate with Lemon & Juniper

For the extras this month, there’s a packet of dried Lemon Slices to add extra flavour and garnish to your G&Ts this weekend; a bag of Chika’s Chilli & Lime Nut Mix (another lovely ethical company), and a bar of the new Limited Edition flavour from Divine – a fairtrade Dark Chocolate which has been flavoured with Lemon and Juniper – yum!

Our score: 10.0/ 10

This month's Craft Gin Club is one of my favourite boxes from them yet. A well thought out and perfectly curated selection of ethical products to please any artisan foodie and drink fan!
