Boxcitement – February 2020: Home is where the heart is

The theme of the latest box from the team at Boxcitement is all about the home. Its always a treat to open up these boxes each month, but this one really hit the brief and had a wide range of different items to suit all tastes.

What’s in the box?

  • A set of recycled notebooks
  • Craft/stationery set
  • A pair of hand crafted feather earrings
  • Two heart-shaped metal wall hanging hooks
  • A ‘home Sweet Home’ piece of art
  • Storage label set
  • A wooden honey dipper spoon as well as some recipes and tips

The highlights

These earrings are a lovely touch and a great play on words to fit with the theme. I wore these the day after they arrived and received so many compliments on them.

These labels are also really good fun. I plan to use them with my craft supplies as I keep all these in plastic boxes. Though I’m not sure how secret the stash would be with that label. A bit like those ‘secret bunkers’ with huge tourist signs outside them!

I’m usually a bit non-plussed by notebooks but I actually really like these. Especially because they have been printed using vegetable oil based inks. They are really good quality and I love the illustrations on them.

This stationery/craft set was a really great addition. I love the ruler key so much, it’s really good quality and unusual too. The little pouch is also infinitely useful.

These cute little hooks are great! I’ve not found a use for them yet but they brought a smile to my face and I love the packaging too.

I really liked the Home Sweet Home print too. Sometimes they can be a bit kitsch but this has a slightly edgy feel with the markings on the background. It reminds me of an ice cream parlour, that can’t be a bad thing surely!

This mini wooden spoon for dipping and drizzling honey is probably my favourite addition in the box this month; which is funny because I don’t really like honey! What I do love is the packaging as on the back of the card there are lots of hints, tips and recipe ideas. If you’re not a honey fan it would make a wonderful present to give to a honey-lover with a little jar of the golden nectar itself.

Our score: 10.0/ 10

This is another great box from the team at Boxcitement. The theme could have run away with them and gone a bit too kitsch but instead they've created a quirky box full of useful items. There wasn't necessarily one stand out high end item; each piece was of great quality and a great addition to any home.
