The Curious Drinker, the club formerly known as Craft Gin Club, has a new set of gin boxes for the season, and this time you can choose between four. Its “Best of UK & Ireland” Discovery Boxes went on sale on 30 October 2026, each built around a different gin: Micil Spiced Orange Irish Gin, Hawkridge Victorian Special Edition, Isle of Lewis Camas Ùige and GŴYR Awen Wild Herb. On 6 November the Micil Discovery Box costs £55 as a one-off on the official shop, like the other three.
What is in a Discovery Box?
Each box follows the same pattern as the club’s old Gin of the Month boxes, according to The Curious Drinker: a full bottle of the featured gin, a classic tonic and dried lime for a G&T, a syrup and mixer “full of orchard flavours” for a seasonal cocktail, savoury snacks, sweet treats including LINDOR truffles, extra drinks, and the latest issue of the club’s magazine, Your Spirit Guide, with recipes and food pairings. The matching Booster Box names the cocktail as a Pear & Ginger Highball.

The four gins
- Micil Spiced Orange Irish Gin: made with local flowers and herbs for a “sweet, spiced and silky-smooth” gin, according to the brand. £55.
- Hawkridge Victorian Special Edition Gin: infused with a floral botanical tea. £55.
- Isle of Lewis Camas Ùige Gin: from the Outer Hebrides, with grapefruit and coastal botanicals. £55.
- GŴYR Awen Wild Herb Gin: made with botanicals foraged on the Gower Peninsula. £55, or £35 as a smaller Taster Box.

The extras: G&T boxes and a £22 booster
If you only want the gin and mixers, there are Simply G&T Boxes at £55, such as the Micil Spiced Orange Gin Simply G&T Box, which swaps the snacks for a selection of tonics from UK brands and a lime and dragon fruit garnish. The Best of UK & Ireland Gin Booster Box costs £22 and adds enough to make four more G&Ts and three more Pear & Ginger Highballs, plus snacks, drinks and two boxes of Lindt chocolates. The brand says it is “worth over £60”.

What we think
Letting you pick your gin is a welcome change. The old Gin of the Month format sent everyone the same bottle; now you can go for a spiced orange Irish gin, a floral one, a coastal Scottish one or a herby Welsh one, and all four come from smaller distilleries you will not see on every supermarket shelf.
At £55 as a one-off, though, a Discovery Box is a treat rather than a bargain, and the shop pages do not give a worth for the full box. Members get members’ pricing, and the site promises you can “join & save over 50%”, swap spirits, change how often boxes arrive, skip or cancel. If you would drink a box every month or two, joining is likely to be the better deal; if you want one gift, the one-off box keeps things simple. We have not tasted these gins ourselves.
