TokyoTreat October 2026: ‘Halloween Fright Fest’ and the new UK delivery fee

TokyoTreat’s October 2026 box is called “Halloween Fright Fest”, and the headline snacks are two limited-edition Japanese KitKat flavours, Pokémon chocolate puffs, spicy yakisoba noodles and black pumpkin gratin rings. You need to order by 22 October to get it. The catch for UK subscribers: the delivery fee went up on 16 September, so a single monthly box now costs about £45 once delivery and UK tax are added.

You can see the full reveal on the official TokyoTreat October 2026 box page. Below, we go through what is confirmed, what a box really costs you in pounds, and who it suits.

A Japanese take on Halloween

TokyoTreat is a Japanese snack subscription that posts a themed box from Japan every month. This October it leans into the way Japan does Halloween: limited-edition seasonal sweets, Pokémon packaging and a dose of yōkai folklore (the supernatural creatures of Japanese legend) in the box’s culture booklet.

It is the same company behind Sakuraco, the more traditional Japanese snack box, so if you are weighing up the two, the prices and delivery terms below apply to both.

What is inside the TokyoTreat October 2026 box?

TokyoTreat has revealed four headline items so far, plus “many more” it has not named. Here is what the Halloween Fright Fest box page confirms:

  • Trick or Treat! Japanese Seasonal KitKats. Each box gets one of two limited flavours: NY Cheesecake (a Spider-Man collaboration) or Baskin-Robbins Chocolate Mint Ice Cream. You cannot choose which.
  • Pokémon Halloween Chocolate Puffs. Chocolate-flavoured corn puffs with a random Pokémon design on each pack and a quiz on the back.
  • Creepy Crawlie Yakisoba Noodles. Street-style fried noodles with a sweet and savoury sauce and a spicy kick, made in one frying pan, according to the brand.
  • Black Pumpkin Gratin Fright Rings. Black potato rings flavoured with sweet pumpkin and creamy gratin.
  • Plus more snacks, not revealed yet.

What we think

The KitKats are the draw. Japanese limited-edition KitKats are hard to find in UK shops, and a Baskin-Robbins mint flavour or a cheesecake one with Spider-Man packaging is exactly the kind of thing you subscribe to TokyoTreat for. The Pokémon puffs will please younger fans, and a pack of yakisoba noodles turns the box from pure sweets into a proper snack haul.

The weak point is the unknown: only four items are named, and the KitKat flavour is luck of the draw. If you want to know every item before you pay, wait for unboxings later in the month.

What a TokyoTreat box costs in the UK now

TokyoTreat charges in US dollars and has raised its prices twice this year. In April 2026 it put the monthly plan up to US$39.99 a box and started charging UK tax and duties of US$3 a box at checkout, instead of absorbing VAT. Then, from 16 September 2026, the delivery fee to the UK went from US$14.99 to US$16.99 a box, according to TokyoTreat’s help centre.

Here is what that adds up to per box, converted at about US$1.32 to the pound (mid-market rate, 11 October 2026):

  • Monthly plan: US$39.99 + US$16.99 delivery + US$3 UK tax = US$59.98, about £45.
  • 3-month prepay: US$36.99 + US$19.99 = US$56.98, about £43 a box.
  • 6-month prepay: US$32.99 + US$19.99 = US$52.98, about £40 a box.
  • 12-month prepay: US$29.99 + US$19.99 = US$49.98, about £38 a box.

Your bank may add a foreign transaction fee on top, and the sterling amount moves with the exchange rate. The plan selector on the TokyoTreat site shows slightly lower base prices in its page data than the April update, so check the total at checkout before you pay.

Worth knowing before you subscribe: over 12 months on the monthly plan, you would pay about £544 in total, against about £453 on the 12-month prepay. Prepaying saves money but locks you in, so only do it if you are sure you will enjoy a year of Japanese snacks.

Who is it for?

It will suit KitKat collectors, Pokémon fans and anyone who loves the novelty of Japanese seasonal sweets. If instead you prefer traditional Japanese treats and tea, the sister box Sakuraco is the better fit. And if £45 a month feels steep for snacks, see our TokyoTreat listing for the basics and our look back at the June 2026 TokyoTreat box to see what a typical month looks like.
