Threads is a monthly subscription that sends you a t-shirt and a graphic novel or book every month. It costs £9.99 per month, with reductions for longer subscriptions.
The box is from Zaavi.com, which is something of a one-stop shop for geeky movies, books, games, and apparel.
It box is a reasonable size, so don’t expect it to fit through the mailbox!
But inside is very simple. A book and a t-shirt. (I forgot to take a picture when I opened it, but the book was on top.)
This month’s book is fantastic! Marvel Studios: All Your Questions Answered.
It’s quite a chunky hardback.
This book is perfect for any Marvel movie fan, and as there are quite a few movies this is a great way to keep them straight!
It has a guide to every Marvel movie right up to Avengers: Infinity War, and has lots of information, pictures, and trivia. Unless you’re a Marvel movie obsessive, in which case you’ll know everything, this is a terrific guide to have on your shelf.
Here’s the t-shirt, in a Transformers design.
Threads offers t-shirts in both male and female sizes, and this is a female shirt. You might be able to tell that the shape is slightly slimmer than a regular t-shirt, and the neck is wider. Now, I don’t know if the designs differ between men and women, but the bright pink suggests to me that this might be a ‘women’s’ design, and the men’s version might be in a different colour. But I don’t know this for sure, it’s perfectly possible both male and female shirts have the identical design.
While I’m not generally a fan of pink, I actually think this design is really cool. The neon colour gives it a great retro look.
The shirt is also 100% cotton, and is quite light but nice quality, it seems like it will wash well.
Well, for £9.99 this is a bargain!
Geek shirts are at least a tenner, and then the book is on Amazon for just under eight quid, so you’ve really got your money’s worth! And it’s cheap enough, especially longer subscriptions, that you won’t mind if you gift the odd book or t-shirt you’re not so keen on.
I’m a big fan of both Transformers and Marvel, so I’m thrilled with both these items. They both have actual use, no random plastic novelties, so this is an eminently practical and interesting box, and terrific value.
