Last month, I reviewed the new Ten Teas Explorer Box and I was thrilled to discover that they had sent me their second explorer box called ‘Our Summer Cuppa’ to review this month.
If you haven’t heard of Ten Teas before, they specialise in high quality, loose-leaf tea which has been ethically sourced and sustainably packaged with the environment in mind. Their eco-friendly ethics also ensure that the boxes are shipped quarterly to reduce their carbon footprint and that the bags of tea that you’ll receive are bigger to cut down on excessive waste.
Curious to find out more? Here’s what I found in the Summer explorer box:-
When you receive your first box as a new subscriber, you’ll find a Starter Pack of TeaBrew Filters and a stainless steel tea measuring spoon to get you started. There’s also a leaflet which explains in further detail about all of the teas in the box.
1 – Estate Tea – Monteviot Estate Tea
The range of Estate Teas are directly sourced from some of the world’s best-producing tea estates and this particular Monetviot Estate Tea comes from organic cultivation which has been produced following traditional methods. The result is a full-bodied, strong cup of tea which has a slightly spicy aftertaste. It’s the very best of a delicious summer Darjeeling!
2 – Breakfast Tea – Russian Earl Grey
Earl Grey is one of my favourite flavours and this Russian Earl Grey is the ideal way to start your morning. Featuring a blend of all-natural Thai Lemongrass and Spanish Oranges, these flavours beautifully infuse the Russian Earl Grey for a citrusy, sunny cuppa that has a mellow finish.
3 – Chai Tea – Izmir Spice Chai
Chai Tea is again, one of my absolute favourites, and this beautiful blend is called Izmir Spice Chai. As soon as I opened the packet, I fell in love with its fragrance! It’s a mild Chai with lots of fruity and floral notes, mixed in with all of those amazing spices.
4 – Flavoured Tea – Sunshine Passion
It wouldn’t be a summer-themed box without a tea called Sunshine Passion! This unique blend of different green and white teas has yellow Rose Buds, Pineapple flakes and Mango cubes to add even more flavour. The result is a juicy and sweet cuppa with all the characteristics of a classic green tea.
5 – Fruit Tea – Pina Colada
As refreshing and sweet as the famous cocktail, this Fruit Tea has lots of tropical appeal with crunchy Coconut Chips, delicate Coconut shreds and tender yellow Pineapple pieces. Quite literally summer in a tea cup!
6 – Functional Tea – Relaxation
As the name suggests, the range of Functional Teas have health and wellbeing benefits and Relaxation is a bright and citrusy blend of Lemon Verbena, tart Raspberry, mixed herbs, fruit pieces and floral petals. It’s completely caffeine-free so it’s perfect to enjoy in the evenings as you wind down from a busy day.
7 – Green Tea – Jasmine Pure Dragon Pearls
An exquisite hand-rolled Jasmine scented tea, the pearls unfurl and explode into larger leaves when added to hot water – it’s mesmerising to watch! The intense flavour and natural fragrance of Jasmine gives way to a super clean aftertaste which will please anyone who appreciates fine Green Tea.
8 – Herbal Tea – Orange Yerba Mate
This one is really interesting as I haven’t quite tasted anything like it before. Imagine fruity sweet Oranges with a strong and spicy Mate Tea that has smokey undertones. It took me a while to get used to it as it’s so different!
9 – Oolong Tea – Elderflower Oolong
Mixing the aromatic Chinese Oolong Ti Kuan Yin with the delicate notes of Elderflower is a match made in summer heaven. It’s refreshing, sweet and has slightly tangy and fruity notes.
10 – Rooibos Tea – Sunshine Lemon Rooibos
I love a good cup of Rooibos and this Sunshine Lemon Rooibos blend features pure South African Cedarburg Rooibos with delicious sun-kissed Lemons for a unique twist. Rooibos is one of the world’s healthiest teas and is full of antioxidants, so brew a cuppa and enjoy all the benefits.
