Sakuraco’s Sakai Tea Traditions deal: a matcha bowl and whisk with 12 boxes for $390

Two friends laugh at a table with an open Sakuraco box, a teapot and Japanese sweets

Sakuraco is giving away tea sets with its early Black Friday deal, and the one worth a look is on the 12-month plan: US$390 for 12 boxes, plus a ceremonial matcha, bowl and mini whisk set in your first box. On 5 November 2026 the official Sakai Tea Traditions page says the offer ends on 15 November and uses the code SAKAI. Sakuraco prices in US dollars, so below we convert the deal into pounds with UK delivery and tax added.

Discount code: SAKAI

What does the Sakai Tea Traditions deal give you?

You sign up for the November 2026 box, “Sakai’s Autumn Wonders”, and the bonus depends on how many months you prepay. According to the brand, these are the plan prices on 5 November 2026:

  • 12 months: US$32.50 a month, US$390 in total (US$450 at the monthly price), “Save $60.00”. Bonus: the Sakai Matcha Tea Ceremony Set.
  • 6 months: US$33.50 a month, “Save $24.00”. Bonus: the Sakai Sencha Tea Set.
  • 3 months: US$35.50 a month, “Save $6.00”. Bonus: the Matcha and Hojicha Instant Latte Duo.
  • 1 month: US$37.50 a month, with no bonus.

What is inside the three tea sets?

The page lists what each bonus contains, and says it arrives with your first Sakuraco box:

  • Matcha and Hojicha Instant Latte Duo (3 months): one 80g instant matcha latte powder and one 80g instant hojicha latte powder.
  • Sakai Sencha Tea Set (6 months): a box of Sakai sencha with seven 2g tea packets, and a Nanban Oribe sencha teacup, 9.1cm wide and 6cm tall.
  • Sakai Matcha Tea Ceremony Set (12 months): one 30g pack of ceremonial-grade matcha, a matcha bowl with a silver, peacock-like glaze (10.5cm wide, 7.9cm tall) and a mini chasen whisk.

The page does not give a worth for these sets, so we cannot say what you save on them. The only figure it gives is the US$60 plan saving on 12 months, which matches the maths: 12 boxes at US$37.50 come to US$450, against US$390. The 6-month saving is US$24 (US$225 against US$201) and the 3-month saving is US$6.

Existing subscribers can join the offer by upgrading or extending a plan through the customer portal or Sakuraco’s support team. The code is added to your checkout automatically when you pick a plan on the page, or you can type SAKAI in yourself.

What does it cost in pounds?

Sakuraco charges US$16.99 a box for delivery to the UK, according to its shipping page updated in October 2026, plus US$3 a box in UK tax and duties, according to its April 2026 help-centre article. At about US$1.35 to the pound (5 November 2026), that gives:

  • 1 month: US$37.50 + US$19.99 = US$57.49, about £43 a box.
  • 3 months: US$35.50 + US$19.99 = US$55.49, about £41 a box.
  • 6 months: US$33.50 + US$19.99 = US$53.49, about £40 a box.
  • 12 months: US$32.50 + US$19.99 = US$52.49, about £39 a box.

If the same delivery and tax apply to all 12 boxes, the 12-month plan comes to about US$630, or roughly £468, for the year. That is our own arithmetic, and your bank may add a foreign transaction fee. The optional Premium Tea Pairing add-on costs another US$10 a month.

What we think

The matcha set is the most useful of the three bonuses, because a bowl, a whisk and ceremonial matcha are what you need to start making tea the traditional way. If you like Japanese tea, the 12-month plan makes sense, and the code does the work for you.

The 3-month tier is a small saving of US$6 with two instant lattes, so we would not choose a plan for it. The catches are the usual ones for a box posted from Japan: about US$20 a box in delivery and tax, a plan that renews until you cancel, and a long wait for delivery. If you would rather try Sakuraco for a month first, pay the US$37.50 monthly price and skip the bonus. The same company is running a similar Pokémon offer, which we cover in our TokyoTreat Pokémon Frenzy article. To see what is in the box itself, read our Sakuraco November 2026 reveal.
