Sakuraco November 2026: ‘Sakai’s Autumn Wonders’ revealed, with lacquered chopsticks and 15 more treats

The Sakuraco November 2026 box spread out on a wooden table with tea, autumn snacks, chopsticks and maple leaves

Sakuraco has revealed its November 2026 box, “Sakai’s Autumn Wonders”, made in collaboration with Sakai City near Osaka. The official page lists 16 items, from hojicha tea and maple leaf senbei to walnut mochi, sweet potato yokan and a pair of Shippo lacquered chopsticks. You need to sign up by 15 November to get it, and in the UK a monthly box works out at about £45 once delivery and tax are added.

All the items are on the official Sakuraco November 2026 box page. Here is what is inside, what we think, and what it really costs in pounds.

Sakai, the city behind the box

Sakai sits just south of Osaka and has one of the longest craft histories in Japan. Sakuraco’s page sums it up well: ancient burial mounds (the city is home to some of the largest keyhole-shaped tombs in the country), centuries of trade, and a craft culture that spans famous kitchen knives, incense, textiles and handwoven carpets. For November, the box turns all that into autumn flavours from local makers, with momiji (maple leaf) shapes running right through the snacks.

It follows October’s “Echoes of Ukiyo-e” box, which we covered in our Sakuraco October 2026 article. Sakuraco is the traditional sister of TokyoTreat: more tea, wagashi (Japanese confectionery) and one homeware item a month, with a 24-page culture guide in every box.

What is inside the Sakuraco November 2026 box?

The Sakai’s Autumn Wonders box page lists these 16 items:

  • Hojicha Tea. A roasted green tea with a warm, toasty flavour.
  • Momiji Senbei. A maple leaf-shaped cracker.
  • Shippo Lacquered Chopsticks. This month’s homeware item.
  • Ika Bon Senbei. A squid-flavoured rice cracker.
  • Milk Bell Castella. A small milk sponge cake.
  • Sweet Potato Sticks.
  • Aonori Soy Sauce Okaki. Rice crackers with soy sauce and green laver seaweed.
  • Castella Manju. A soft bun with a castella-style dough.
  • Walnut Mochi.
  • Sweet Potato Yokan. A firm sweet potato jelly.
  • Miyako Konbu. A sweet and sour kelp snack.
  • Karatto Okara. A crunchy snack made from okara (soy pulp).
  • Momiji Arare. Small maple leaf rice crackers.
  • Awa Okoshi. A puffed millet treat.
  • Momiji Konpeito and Wasurenagusa Konpeito. Two sets of tiny sugar candies.

What we think

November looks like a very cosy box, and a good one to start with if you have never tried Sakuraco. The theme is really carried by the contents: the maple leaf senbei, arare and konpeito all lean into Japanese autumn, and hojicha is the perfect tea for darker evenings. The lacquered chopsticks are a homeware item you will actually use every day, which is not always the case with these boxes.

The balance is good too, with savoury crackers (squid, soy and seaweed, kelp, okara) to cut through the sweet potato, mochi and castella. A couple of items, such as the squid senbei and miyako konbu, are acquired tastes, so this is not a box for very fussy eaters.

How much a Sakuraco box costs in the UK

Sakuraco charges in US dollars. Its April 2026 pricing update set the monthly plan at US$39.99 a box (US$36.99 on a 3-month prepay, US$32.99 on 6 months, US$29.99 on 12 months) and added UK tax and duties of US$3 a box at checkout. Since 16 September 2026, delivery to the UK costs US$16.99 a box, according to the help centre Sakuraco shares with TokyoTreat.

Converted at US$1.32 to the pound (European Central Bank reference rate of 15 October 2026), that is about £45 a box on the monthly plan and about £38 a box on a 12-month prepay. Your bank may add a foreign transaction fee, and the sterling total moves with the exchange rate, so check it at checkout.

Worth knowing before you subscribe: Sakuraco says the subscription auto-renews, with the option to pause or cancel at any time. Over a year on the monthly plan, you would pay about £543.

Who is it for?

It will suit tea lovers, anyone who enjoys traditional Japanese sweets more than novelty snacks, and people who like a box with a real sense of place. It is also an easy Christmas present, since Sakuraco sells gift subscriptions, and a November start means the box arrives in plenty of time for December. If you prefer KitKats, crisps and Pokémon sweets, our TokyoTreat listing is a better fit, and our Sakuraco listing has the full background on the box.
