I Love Gin is a monthly drinks subscription box, which specialises in, yes you’ve guessed it, gin! Each box contains enough to serve up four delicious G&T’s so it’s a fantastic way to discover something new and exciting as many of the gins included are small batch from independent distilleries.
July’s box is themed The England To Estonia Box so let’s check out what’s inside:-
Hyke Gin (50ml, 40%)
Food waste is a massive problem in the UK so I found this gin very interesting as it’s made from leftover grapes that would otherwise be thrown away. Whilst grapes are generally associated with making wine, this gin is based on a grape spirit and is flavoured with a blend of botanicals which are inspired by the grapes’ African and South American origins – how cool is that?! The botanicals include Juniper, Myrrh, Nigella Seed, Rooibos, Cumin, Bay Leaf, Green Cardamom, Coriander, Angelica Root and Aniseed to name but a few. Even the Hyke bottle is made from fully recyclable materials and it tastes amazing!
Junimperium Gin (50ml, 45%)
Awarded the Best Estonian London Dry at the World Gin Awards 2020, Junimperium is a truly handmade and complex gin that is bursting with flavour. Made in the Telliskivi area of Estonia, this gin adheres to traditional methods and has a wonderfully unique flavour thanks to the combination of the world’s best Juniper Berries with a mix of locally sourced ingredients, as well as botanicals like Coriander, Angelica, Thyme, Cubeb Pepper and two which are top secret. It has a strong and hard flavour with a smooth finish.
Folkington’s Earl Grey Tonic Water
There are three mixers to enjoy with the gins above, two of which are from Folkington’s and their Earl Grey Tonic Water really elevates your G&T with an interesting flavour twist! It has an almost smokey finish to it which is lovely.
Inginius Classic Light Tonic
Specially formulated for use with dry gins, Inginius Classic Light Tonic is a refreshing and clean mixer that works well with any London Dry gin.
