It’s that time of the month again (my favourite time of the month) as it’s subscription box time! LookFantastic have produced some amazing beauty boxes over the past few months; I think my favourite box so far is a toss up between the October and December boxes.
The February box is the ‘Runway Ready’ box, probably because of London Fashion Week 2017 which starts this month; although I think a Valentine’s Day or Galentines Day box would have been a little more appealing to me! There are six items in this months box, most of which are skincare related with one makeup item.
Polaar Icy Magic Instant Eye Contour Energiser
I tried the Polaar Lip Balm via the October LookFantastic box which has turned out to be one of my favourite lip balms ever so I was exited to try another item from the French brand. The eye cream contains Siberian ginseng and claims to help eliminate puffiness, dark circles and stimulate eyelash growth, the latter claim is really interesting. It has a very cooling rollerball applicator which I love but sadly the cream doesn’t apply easily – I need to press harder than I want to and I can’t feel the eye cream on the skin which is quite disappointing but I’ll continue to try and make it work.
Model Co EyeLites in St Barts
Model Co seems to be a brand that pops up in most beauty boxes frequently but I don’t seem to find the products that appealing or effective and the products aren’t widely available, from what I’ve seen. I can’t find this product online but I assume it’s a cream eyeshadow. The shade is just gorgeous, it’s a beautiful rose gold shade and it has the most incredible shine. The applicator is great but it can’t apply the eyeshadow in an evenly layer but because of the shine, the patchiness isn’t very noticeable. The cream eyeshadow dried down in a couple of minutes but it does crease on me.
My Vitamins Catwalk Queen Tablets
I am not a fan of supplements and tablets in beauty boxes as not everyone will want them and if you have a healthy diet anyway, then extra tablets won’t do anything for you as the body can only absorb so much. There are 30 tablets which contribute to the maintenance of normal hair, skin and nails. They might be an exciting or interesting addition for some but for me personally I won’t be using them.
The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors + HA
I don’t know why some products, especially skincare products, have to have such complicated and confusing names – I think this is a moisturiser but I only know that from the directions which state to use this after apply your serum. Ruth Crilly from A Model Recommends mentioned this brand in a recent video. I’ve tried it a couple of times and it does leave my skin smooth, soft and moisturised.
Fango Brillante Brightening Mud Mask For Face & BodyThis is the product I was most excited by as I haven’t ever tried a body mask. Also I have to admit that the blush pink and copper packaging is very appealing as I’m a blogger! It sounds interesting and even though it’s only a single use item, I cannot wait to try it!
This Works Stress Check Breath In
I haven’t been very impressed with the February box so far but this item is the best by far and I’m very happy with it! It’s a heavenly scented rollerball that can be applied to the pulse points; it has such a calming herbal, floral and musky scent that I find incredibly relaxing. I will be keeping this in my bag to use on the go and I might actually buy the full size!
