Toppbox – February 2019

Toppbox is a monthly box of men’s grooming supplies. It costs £19 per month plus £3.35 p+p, but the box contents will always be a considerably higher value.

I love skincare products, but for this I have enlisted my lovely husband to try out the items and give his considered opinion!

The box itself is delivered inside a padded envelope for extra protection. Once in a while items are in glass bottles or jars, but I’ve never had any item arrive damaged in any way.

Everything is packed nicely in tissue, and and on top there  you can see their menu card.

The menu gives you a list of the items in the box. There is also a description of each one, and the RRP is listed. I check all of the RRPs online, and in my experience they are generally accurate.

This MONU Men’s Vital Eye Gel is perfectly timed! My husband has been complaining about the bags under his eyes from tiredness, and also stealing my eye gel, so now he has some of his own! He certainly likes this one, and I think that gel is preferable to cream, especially for tired eyes.

This product is definitely I’m going to share. Bullet & Bone Cooling Recovery Body Wash has a lovely zingy smell, and really is perfect for use after the gym, or even just to give you a bit of a wake-up in the morning!

Admiral Grooming Antioxidant Moisturizing Balm contains artichoke which apparently has regenerating properties, and is designed to rehydrate dry skin. Winter weather is the worst for dry skin (which I happen to have, I totally tried this one) and this is really rather pleasant to use. It absorbs fast and hydrates without leaving a greasy layer.

I’ve seen Christopher Courtney products in Toppbox before, and they’re always nice to use. This Christopher Courtney London Men’s Prebiotic Aluminium and Alcohol Free Deodorant is not a product I’ve been aware of before. I really like the idea of natural deodorant, as there’s so much garbage in the regular stuff, but the effectiveness can vary widely. This hasn’t yet been tried for any length of time to properly test it, but I’m reassured by the fact that it’s all natural and organic ingredients!

Finally, Morgan’s Pomade Hand Cream. There was a body lotion from this brand in the November box, and this hand cream smells equally delicious. Cold weather can play havoc with the skin on your hands, and this one is really quite rich, so it’s perfect for putting on before you go to bed.

The selection this month is very thoughtful for the cold weather! Hand cream and moisturizer are always used more in the winter as skin gets so much drier.

My husband is incredibly pleased with the eye gel (so am I, he won’t be taking mine any more!) and the shower gel is also lovely first thing in the morning. We both go to the gym so this is appreciated all round.

I did find a couple of the items available on Amazon for less than the listed RRPs, but regardless, you are getting an huge amount of bang for your buck. The value is over £60, and even if every single item was selling at half the RRP (they’re not!) you’d still be getting well over the cost of the box.

All these products are a pleasure to use, and with the possible of any beard products that feature from time to time, everything can be borrowed by any females who happen to be around!

This is a great way to discover new brands, and the products commonly contain natural ingredients, as well as being vegan and organic.
