Threads

Threads is a monthly subscription from Zaavi.com, which is something of a one-stop shop for geeky movies, books, games, and apparel. It’s a simple idea, you get a t-shirt and a graphic novel or book every month. It costs £9.99 per month, with reductions for longer subscriptions. Given the average price of books and t-shirts, this is an excellent deal.

I love this month’s t-shirt! It’s a fantastic colour, and the retro 1966 Batman design is really striking! It’s also 100% cotton, which is excellent.

This is one of the Star Trek Graphic Novel Series.

This is number 6 in the series.

I want to note here that the September box contained number 5, and the August box contained numbers 3 and 4.

There’s an extra in here, a Kidrobot Let’s Hang Zipper Pull.

This is a blind bag with a tiny and cute little character on a clip that you can attach to a zip or bag. I have an ice cream, and there’s an insert that shows you the whole range.

I have some very mixed feelings about this month. First, I love the t-shirt, it's such fun! I really don't like the books at all. It feels like cheating to have books from the same series three months in a row (volume 13 also popped up back in March) because unless you're a Star Trek fan there's only so much you want or need. The little zipper thing is very cute, though when I looked it up it seems they were sold over 10 years ago, so this, combined with the books, makes me wondering if the company has a whole lot of old stock they're trying to get rid of. I'll give them a pass, just, this month, because of the shirt and zip pull, but I'm really hoping I don't see anything also Star Trek related for a good long while.
