Secret Scent Box

Secret Scent Box gives you a monthly selection of three scents both traditional and brand new. The spray vials have the perfect amount to last through the month, and it’s a greta way to experiment with new scents!

The box is small and fits right through the letterbox, which is very convenient.

Ted Baker – Woman Pink

This is a distinctly feminine scent, and while it’s described as a green scent I actually found it much more floral. The middle notes came through much more strongly for me. The tun and vetiver stops it being too sweet, and I would definitely call this a delicate daytime scent, young and fresh.

Mugler – Alien Goddess

Alien Goddess is a new fragrance launched just this year. It is a remarkable combination of sweet and earthy, with the bergamot coming through strongly along with a hint of coconut. The vanilla is underneath which gives it more support with a little more sweetness, and this really reminds me of sun and sand and coconut cocktails! It’s a wonderful and unusual scent, and would definitely get attention.

Escada – Miami Blossom

Launched in 2019, this is actually marketed as a summer fragrance. The fruity top notes are extremely strong, almost candy-like. It’s very sweet and unsophisticated, and while a very young person could probably get away with this, I really found it far to sweet and simple.

Well, this month is unusual as all three fragrances seem to be very much on the feminine side. My favourite by far is the Alien Goddess, which has a wonderful depth and layers of scent, and I can see myself wearing this as a regular evening scent. The Escada I really don't think would do many people any favours, though it might be a fun scent for a teenage girl. As for Ted Baker, again it's quite a young scent, and while overly floral scents aren't my favourite I think it's wearable in the right context. Despite not liking one at all this month, I'm very glad to have been able to try them out, and I've discovered something I really love! And that's what this is box is all about.
