Secret Scent Box

Perfume is a very personal thing, and it can be both difficult and expensive figuring out what kind you like. If you enjoy discovering and wearing scent, the Secret Scent Box is the terrific way to try out a huge range of different perfumes. Every month you get three 5ml bottles though the letterbox, plus guidance notes.

The box is nice and compact and will fit. thorough your letterbox perfectly.

With the three little spray vials you get a card with individual scent notes for each perfume, which gives you a great insight into the different layers of perfume.

As it’s July I’m hoping for another selection of lovely summery scents!

Lalique – Satine

According to the card, the top notes are floral and vanilla doesn’t show up immediately, but I found that the sweet vanilla was quite strong initially. When it opened up I got much more of the earthier sandalwood and slightly sharper patchouli. For all it’s initial sweetness I think this turns into quite a mature scent, and while I like it, it seems slightly on the intense side for a summer scent.

Calvin Klein – Euphoria Blush

This scent was only released in 2020, and is delightfully fruity. The initial raspberry and blackberry is surprisingly intense, but then calms down a little into more floral notes. It’s definitely a sweet and very feminine scent, but great fun, and would be very nice for a summer daytime scent.

Paco Rabanne – Calandre

This is a scent with a long history. It’s the absolute opposite of the Calvin Kein, incredibly green, fresh, and almost slightly soapy. But don’t let that put you off, I find it a really sophisticated scent and just escapes being old fashioned by the undertones of amber. It could definitely be considered a unisex scent, but has a feminine edge that keeps it away from being cologne.

Secret scent always supplies lovely contrasting scents, but this month's selection is more opposite than most! That's a good thing though, I love the option of sweet with the Calvin Klein and cool and almost astringent Paco Rabanne. The Lalique is beautiful too, though I think I'd save it for later in the year, but as it's a new scent for me I'm glad to have it in my stash! As always Secret Scent gives you a great selection to choose from, and whether you have a signature scent or love trying new things, this is a marvellous way to experience new scents without breaking the bank.
