Falling Into Place: a Cherry Glaze theme from hair to lips

Every Budget Box has a theme, and October’s is all about one scent: Cherry Glaze, which runs through every product. Unlike many beauty boxes, P.Louise fills the Budget Box with its own products only, often new launches or exclusive shades and scents, rather than samples from other brands. The flip side is that you need to like P.Louise as a brand, because there is no variety of labels.

What we think

At £30 a month, a stated worth of £73 is a strong ratio, and this month is more skincare and haircare than make-up, which makes it easy to use up. The face cream and cleansing oil are the two products we would look forward to, and the lip oil set is a nice bonus for gloss fans. The two minis are the filler: handy for a weekend away, but small.

The scent is the gamble. If you like sweet, dessert-style fragrances, a whole routine in Cherry Glaze will feel like a treat; if you prefer unscented skincare, this is not your month.

Worth knowing before you subscribe:

• Postage is charged on top, every month, and the cost depends on where you live.
• Boxes are processed from the last day of the month and can take up to seven working days to be dispatched, so October’s box is posted at the start of November.
• Payment for later boxes is taken between the 28th and the 31st of each month.
