In January nomakenolife unveiled its brand new upgraded design and bigger box!
It now contains 8 – 9 items of cosmetic and skincare products from both Japan and Korea, two places which are very serious about their beauty products.
They have one-, three-, six-, and 12-month subscriptions costing from $35 (around £27) for one month (longer subscriptions are cheaper). Shipping is free.
June’s theme is Rise & Shine, with products to boost your morning routine.
In the booklet you’ve got a full list of products, giving you details plus the origin of each item.
There’s also a handy tutorial to use the styling accessory.
This first item is something I’ve wanted for ages – an Etude House My Beauty Tool Eti Hair Band. I love these bands for keep your hair out of your face when you wash it or use a face mask, and the cat ears are so cute!
Angel Heart Cheek, Eye & Lip Cream is the first of three cosmetic items this month. As the name suggests, it can be used to add colour to your cheeks, lips, and eyes, and it contains moisturizing mineral oils. The small size makes it portable, perfect for your handbag, and the packaging is very cute.
Another multi functional product, Choonee Water Lip Tint Balm is a lovely lip balm with a hint of colour. It’s very hydrating, as it includes shea butter, jojoba seed oil for extra moisturising effect. Tinted lip balms are especially nice for the summer as they give you colour without being overly dramatic, which is perfect for a bright summer day.
If you’re a fan of the cat’s eye look, this Etude House Oh M’Eye Line Liquid Eyeliner is perfect! This classic black eyeliner has a fine tip for great precision.
Lip Moist Oil is more a beauty product than a cosmetic, though it can be worn alone for shine. Otherwise it is a great treatment for chapped lips, and it can also be used underneath lipstick for extra moisturising.
The packaging of this Juicy Bottle Mask is slightly smaller than usual for a sheet mask, but it still contains a regular size mask. There are a variety of different masks available, but this one is the Pomegranate version, for skin elasticity and radiance.
Oshima Tsubaki Hair Cream contains Japanese camellia oil and is a great product for moisturising dry hair. It’s probably more suitable for very thick hair, as part of the description is to control volume, but for anyone who finds their hair unmanageable this will be an excellent product.
Finally, a hair accessory: Lucky Trendy Hair Curler Set. The booklet shoes you how to use these curlers, but they are essentially tubes you wrap your hair around and then close up to hold them in place. You’re directed to use a hairdryer to heat and set your hair in the shapes, and the fact that they are hollow and perforated means that the heat from the hairdryer will penetrate them much more easily than solid curlers. They’re also soft so they’d probably be quite comfortable to wear overnight.
This month’s box is definitely leaning towards the cosmetic! I especially like the tinted lip balm, and the face.lip/eye cream is also a lovely extra way to add colour to your lips.
The hair cream is probably the one thing I’ll have to pass on, as my hair is very fine and not dry at all, but I know where it will go to a very good home and will be much appreciated.
My favourite this month is actually the hairband, not least because I’ve seen many versions of this and I’ve always wanted one!
