Neat Nutrition: Starter Box

Healthy protein shakes are popular with many these days, especially those who lead fit and active lifestyles, as well as people who are just starting out in the gym for the first time. There are a number of boxes available that specialise in delivering nutritional protein shakes to your door and Neat Nutrition are one of the newer ones that I’ve recently discovered.

Founded in 2015 by two former GB swimmers, Lee Forster and Charlie Turner, Neat Nutrition offers high-quality products as part of a fully customisable subscription plan. You can choose from grass-fed whey protein and homegrown vegan protein (pea and hemp blend), with the opportunity to change the product, delivery frequency and even cancel, as you please.

To get things off on the right foot, Neat Nutrition has a helpful introductory Starter Box priced at just £4.95 (RRP £14.95) with free delivery so that you can try them out.

Here’s what’s included:-

No protein shake starter box is complete without a good quality shaker bottle and this one is just the right size for making up one delicious shake to drink on the go. The lid feels sturdy and I haven’t had any problems with leaking or anything like that, so it gets a thumbs up from me!

In my box, I received two sachets of Neat’s Whey blend in two different flavours; Vanilla Bean and Chocolate. Both of these are vegetarian-friendly and free from gluten and soy. The Chocolate blend contains 100 calories and 21g of protein, whereas the Vanilla Bean has 100 calories and 22g of protein – both were very tasty and easy to mix up with water.

I was very pleased to see that Neat offer vegan options so here we have two sachets; one Chocolate and one Vanilla. They’re based on a blend of Pea and Hemp and I was surprised to see that they have more protein content than the Whey products above. The Chocolate flavour is 131 calories with 25g of protein and the Vanilla is 131 calories with 26g of protein! They both tasted really good too – I actually preferred these over the Whey ones.

At the bottom of the box, there’s a recipe card included for Apple Pie Oats – a tasty and different way to use your protein powder in a breakfast – yum!

If, after your Starter Box, you’d like to continue with Neat Nutrition, the ongoing subscription box costs £20 per month and includes your choice of 12 protein sachets. The subscriptions are fully customisable so you can switch up the flavours and blends as often as you’d like.

Our score: 10.0/ 10

I can't fault the Neat Nutrition Starter Box - it's brilliant and such an affordable way to try out their products to find the flavours and blends that you like!
