Having enjoyed last month’s My Little Box, I was thrilled to receive their March box which is just as good, if not better! March’s theme is called ‘My Little Bubble’ and it embraces all things big, bubbly and bright. The box itself features a cute illustration of a girl on rollerskates and there’s a cool 80s/pastels vibe going on which is perfect for Spring.
The first item that I pulled out of the box was a balloon with a ‘Be Wild!’ slogan on it and underneath that was My Little Box’s monthly magazine. As far as free supplementary magazines like this go, I always look forward to reading MLB’s because it’s always packed full of interesting articles, and the layout is so stylish and chic. In this month’s magazine there are art features, tips and tricks on how to get the most out of your beauty products, a spring fashion editorial, and even a fun infographic on Cadbury’s Creme Eggs to name but a few.
Moving onto the products inside the box, there was a super cute Happy Hair Day Hairbrush in a cheerful light pastel blue colour. It’s plastic and lightweight, but feels sturdy enough to do the job. I personally like brushes with plastic bristles because they’re easy to keep clean and they offer a cruelty free alternative to those who would prefer not to use brushes with animal hair bristles. I love how this even comes packaged in its own illustrated box – you could easily gift it to a friend if you didn’t need a new hair brush yourself.
The next item was another seperately boxed treat, and this was one of My Little Box’s own brand ‘Beauty Bubble’ aka a makeup applicator sponge that looks quite similar to the much loved Beauty Blender. Worth £8, this sponge is a bright neon pink and features a teardrop shaped tip which helps when applying foundation in those awkward areas like around the nose. It feels bouncy and very much like the Beauty Blender in texture, so I have high hopes for this!
Anyone who knows me will know that I’m a big nail polish junkie, so I always love finding nail polish in beauty boxes. In the cute My Little Box drawstring bag, I found a full size Essie Nail Lacquer (worth £7.99) in the shade Belugaria. This is a black textured nail polish with holographic glitter – very different to anything that I already own in my nail polish collection so I’m looking forward to testing this out this weekend.
Another product from My Little Box’s ‘My Little Beauty‘ own brand range, this is a full size Bubble Blush which is a liquid lip and cheek stain. The shade looks like a bright fuschia pink in the bottle but it sheers out really well so it’s much more wearable on. The texture and consistency of this reminds me of Benefit’s liquid lip and cheek stains in that it dries very quickly and leaves a long lasting ‘stain’ on the cheeks. Lovely bright blusher shade for Spring!
Saving the very best to last, I was VERY happy to find a deluxe travel size of Givenchy‘s bestselling Noir Couture Volume mascara! I have a thing for designer mascaras and love the minature sizes that some of the big brands do. The packaging of this is simply awesome and the wand looks amazing. The full size version of this mascara retails for £25, so it’s great to have a mini to sample before deciding on whether you want to splurge on the big one.
My Little Box have done an excellent job curating March’s box and it’s definitely a special one for us beauty junkies! Great value for money and I can’t wait to play with all of the products.
