My Little Box – April 2016

The sun is out and Spring is finally here, hooray! It looks like My Little Box are also celebrating the new season as April’s box is a very special and different twist on the ever-changing monthly theme. Let’s take a closer look, shall we?

IMG_2947That’s right, this month’s My Little Box is cunningly disguised as a ‘My Little Flower Book’! I was so surprised when I opened up the package to reveal this; not only is it a brilliant novel concept (pun maybe intended there), but you can actually re-use it to store all sorts of secret items as it comes complete with a branded tie-ribbon and a fully functioning (and pretty of course) spine. What a cool idea!

IMG_2964Inside the Flower Book/Box, I pulled out the monthly My Little World magazine which again is another great read with various articles on things like how to keep fresh flowers looking their best for longer, inspirational poetry quotes, and a gorgeous Spring fashion editorial spread.

Next up, I opened up the first item, an adorable Pop-Up Garden (worth £7) with a French street scene illustration and a sachet of Garden Cress seeds for you to plant inside. I’ve seen these as gifts in various shops before so I’ll definitely have a go at planting these and seeing how they turn out. Very cute!

IMG_2966 The second item is a Balzac X My Little Box collaboration piece – a handy padded travel pouch to keep delicate lingerie safe on your holidays and weekends away. This is something that I’ve often felt has been missing from my own suitcase as it’s very easy for bras and silks to get twisted up or damaged whilst in transit so I’ll certainly be making good use of this come Summer.

IMG_2971Inside the cotton drawstring bag this month, My Little Box have treated us to three beauty products. The one above is a MLB own brand item – a Detoxifying Mask (50ml, worth £11). It’s made from 96% natural ingredients and is bursting with Vitamin C to sweep away grimy environmental pollutants, declog pores and brighten up dull skin. I love trying out new face masks and this one sounds very promising for my troublesome combination skin.

The second beauty product is a travel size L’Occitane Pivoine Flora Shower Gel (50ml – full-size bottle is £15 for 250ml). I love L’Occitane’s bath and shower ranges and this Pivoine Flora Shower Gel smells wonderfully fresh and floral. Perfect for taking with you on holiday.

IMG_2980Lastly, the final product this month is a full-size Nails Inc nail polish (worth £11). I have a lot of Nails Inc in my nail polish collection as their varnishes are always excellent quality so I’m happy to add this one to my growing stash. It doesn’t say what shade this is on the bottle, but as you can see, it’s a beautiful burgundy red. Not quite the colour I was expecting from a Spring themed box but I love it anyway!

Another great box from MLB – If you like what you see, you can subscribe to My Little Box UK for just £11 plus £3.95 P&P per month. For more info visit mylittlebox.co.uk
