Milk & More

  • Doorstep milk delivery
  • From £1.35

Milk & More is the original doorstep milk round, brought online: you set up regular deliveries of milk in returnable glass bottles, plus eggs, bread, juice and groceries, and a milkman leaves them on your doorstep overnight, before 7am, on up to three days a week. There is no subscription fee, no minimum spend and no contract, and delivery is free. It covers England and Wales. For anyone who wants plastic-free milk and never wants to run out again, it is one of the most convenient services in the UK, though you pay more per pint than at the supermarket.

How Milk & More works

  1. Check your postcode and create an account. Milk & More tells you which three days a week it can deliver to you.
  2. Set up regular orders. Each product can come every delivery day, weekly, fortnightly or every six weeks, and you can add one-off top-ups.
  3. Leave out safe storage. A cool box, insulated Milk Minder or a sheltered spot keeps the delivery fresh until morning.
  4. Wake up to your order. The milkman delivers overnight, aiming to arrive before 7am, and collects your rinsed empty bottles.

You can place, change or cancel an order until 9pm the night before delivery, and skip deliveries for holidays in the Skip Deliveries section of your account or the app. If a product is unavailable, Milk & More may substitute it (you can opt out), and you are never charged more than the original item.

What you can order

Milk is the core: semi-skimmed, skimmed and whole in glass, unhomogenised whole and organic milks, Channel Island milk, lactose-free, goats’ milk and long-life options, all from British farms. Around it sits a full breakfast and top-up shop: free-range eggs, bread and pastries, butter, cheese, cream and yoghurts, juices and smoothies, oat, almond, soya and coconut drinks, organic fruit and veg boxes, and cupboard staples. In practice most customers build a weekly order of milk, eggs and bread and add extras when they need them.

What makes Milk & More different

  • Glass bottles that are reused, not recycled. Milk & More says each refillable bottle is used around 25 times on average.
  • No fee, no minimum and no contract. The milkman will deliver even a single pint a week.
  • Overnight delivery before 7am. Everything is waiting when you wake up, three days a week.
  • Wide coverage. It delivers across England and Wales, far beyond most local dairies.
  • Flexible down to the item. Every product can have its own frequency, and changes are allowed until 9pm the night before.

Is Milk & More worth it?

Our verdict: yes, if convenience and plastic-free milk matter to you more than the lowest price. At £1.35 a pint in glass, milk costs noticeably more than supermarket milk in plastic, and the same goes for bread and eggs, so a full weekly shop here adds up. But there is no delivery charge or membership, and never running out of milk, eggs or bread is genuinely useful for families. Keep your order to the essentials, use the bundles, and do your big shop elsewhere.

Pros

  • Free overnight delivery before 7am, up to three times a week
  • Returnable glass bottles that are refilled and reused
  • No subscription fee, no minimum order, no contract
  • Changes and cancellations until 9pm the night before
  • Broad range beyond milk, including organic fruit and veg

Cons

  • Dearer than supermarket milk and groceries
  • England and Wales only, and no fixed delivery time
  • Closing the account itself needs a phone call or the contact form
  • Doorstep deliveries can attract wildlife or thieves without a cool box or safe spot
