Mask Time – December 2017

‘K-Beauty’ or Korean Beauty has become increasingly popular here in the UK thanks to Instagram and Youtube stars. In South Korea, they take skincare very seriously, and sheet masks are a staple in many women’s (and men’s!) daily beauty routines. I’m a huge fan of sheet masks myself as they are a fantastic way to treat yourself to some ‘me time’ and enjoy a pamper at home, so I was very excited to see a brand new subscription box come out called Mask Time.

Every month Mask Time compile a box that’s packed full of the latest trends in sheet masks and deliver them straight to your door. Postage is free in the UK, but they also offer additional international shipping options at affordable rates too. Inside the box, you can expect to find 8-10 sheet masks, plus a bonus skincare or beauty item which I think is brilliant value for money!

December’s box was their first launch and it arrived beautifully packaged with a full guide to all of the enclosed sheet masks, which is really useful because many of the masks only have Korean text on them of course!

Here’s what I found inside:-

The Face Shop Winter Padding Mask (RRP £3)

This cute sheet mask is a deeply moisturising cream face mask to help keep your skin hydrated during the colder Winter months. Perfect for dry, dehydrated and dull skin types, it contains Cotton Seed Oil extract to create a protective barrier against the cold, windy and harsh elements outside.

Etude House Heating Eye Mask (RRP £3.50)

How adorable is this one?! This is a Heating Eye Mask from the popular brand Etude House and is a pampering treat for tired eyes. It offers comfort and a gentle warmth, which helps to relax the muscles around the eyes and temples. Sounds ideal for anyone who has been having a late night recently!

Merbliss Nurse Healing Mask (RRP £3.50)

If your skin is dry and flaky from the cold weather, let Merbliss’ Nurse Healing Mask come and save you! Enriched with Phytonicide Complex, Pearl extracts, Caviar extracts and Hydrolyzed Collagen, this skincare treatment will instantly soothe, brighten and hydrate your complexion.

Sixteen Brand Hibiscus Tea Mask Pack (RRP £3)

This sheet mask is specially formulated with Hibiscus Flower Tea extracts to calm and revitalise tired skin, whilst also helping to eliminate impurities and toxins for a clearer and happier complexion. One of my favourites and I loved the results!

Etude House 0.2mm Pearl Mask (RRP £2.50)

Designed for sensitive skin, this sheet mask from Etude House is made from a breathable 0.2mm air sheet material and contains real Pearl powder extracts and Niacinamide to restore dull skin to its former glory. Pearl is particularly useful for its brightening qualities, so this is one to use when you need some extra glow.

Acwell Rice Brightening Daanji Mask (RRP £3.50)

Next up, I found another brightening mask, this time from Acwell. It has a super soft fermented bio-cellulose material which feels amazing on the skin and is soaked in a creamy fermented Rice extract essence to brighten the overall appearance, whilst also helping to minimise pores.

The Face Shop Real Nature Red Ginseng Mask (RRP £2.50)

Ginseng is a very popular natural ingredient that’s used in a lot of Korean skincare and this sheet mask from The Face Shop really utilises its natural firming and energizing properties, to give your skin a really good boost of vitality!

Repiel Timeless Line-Shot Bio Mask (RRP £6)

As you can see above, all of the other sheet masks have been packaged in their traditional flat packs, but this one is inside a big plastic syringe container – interesting! Once opened up, you’ll find a high-quality bio-cellulose mask that’s filled with the hero ingredient Volufiline which gives instant firming results. A great mask to try for anti-ageing.

Leaders Insolution Aloe Soothing Skin Renewal Mask (RRP £2.50)

After a busy day in the city or at work, treat your skin to this calming and soothing renewing mask that helps to relieve your skin from pollutants and environmental stress. Formulated with Aloe Vera, it’s gentle on sensitive skin that’s prone to redness and helps to reduce inflammation.

Verite Very Good Morning & Very Good Night Mask Duo (RRP £4)

As I mentioned earlier, many South Koreans use a sheet mask on a daily basis and some even use more than one which is why this Morning and Night pack comes in so useful! On one side there’s a brightening and exfoliating white sheet mask which can be used in just 3 minutes in the morning, and on the other side, there’s a black sheet mask infused with Bamboo Charcoal to remove toxins and dirt that have built up during the day. Very clever!

Entia No Filter Brightening Camera Mask (RRP £6)

Say goodbye to Instagram and Snapchat filters with this No Filter Brightening Camera Mask from Entia. Made up of two steps, you use the Vitamin C ampoule powder on your face first to brighten, and then apply the sheet mask afterwards, leaving it on for 15-20 minutes for a radiant selfie-ready complexion.

Make P:rem Blending Me Nourishing Oil Mask (RRP £3)

Give your dull skin a mega glow with this sheet mask that’s packed full of 10 plant-based oils for the ultimate nourishing and pampering skincare treat. Each oil has different properties so this mask is great to tackle a multitude of skincare concerns all in one go.

A’Pieu Coffee Lip Scrub Mochalipccino (RRP £8)

This month’s bonus beauty product is a delicious Coffee based Lip Scrub from A’Pieu which will delight anyone who is a Coffee lover! All of the coffee extracts in this lip scrub are certified by the Rainforest Alliance to ensure sustainability where wildlife and local farmers are both protected. It works a treat and tastes yummy too!

Lastly, I found some extra Korean beauty sachet samples at the bottom of the box – thanks Mask Time!

Our score: 9.8/ 10

I'm so impressed with the very first Mask Time box which contained more products than I was expecting (always a good thing!) and is packed full of amazing K-Beauty brands. Highly recommended and incredible value for money!
