Look Incredible – July 2017: Standard Beauty Box

Fed up with getting small travel size products and tiny samples in your beauty boxes? Would you prefer to receive ONLY full-size beauty products instead? If your answer is yes, then Look Incredible is the beauty box for you!

The online retailer currently offers two monthly beauty box subscriptions; a Standard Beauty Box (priced at £25 incl P&P per month), and a Deluxe Beauty Box (priced at £35 incl P&P per month). Obviously, these price points are higher than other beauty boxes on the market, however, they offer excellent value for money as everything that you receive in both the Standard and Deluxe versions is full-sized, so if you’re a fan of more higher-end and luxury brands, this is a great box to sign up to.

This month, I received Look Incredible’s Standard Beauty Box so you can get an idea of what you will receive if you subscribe to them. The Standard boxes come in a plain black design with gold text and a cute little bow, so let’s take a closer look at the contents:-

bareMinerals Statement Matte Liquid Lipstick in Fresh (RRP £15)

I’m a big fan of bareMinerals and use a lot of their makeup on a regular basis, so I was thrilled to see one of their popular Statement Matte Liquid Lipsticks in this month’s box. Liquid lipsticks are a huge trend at the moment and the formula of this one is brilliant – it’s long-wearing, feels lightweight with a cream to matte texture and doesn’t feel sticky or drying. It’s very comfortable on the lips and this shade called Fresh is a beautiful, bold warm pink colour for Summer.

Kevyn Aucoin The Eye Pigment Primatif in Haze (RRP £18)

Kevyn Aucoin is such a coveted luxury makeup brand that I was beyond excited to open up this Eye Pigment, but I’m a little disappointed with it, to be honest. The formula is very dry and almost crumbly to the touch, and despite this colour Haze, being a gorgeous shimmery bronze in the pan, the pigmentation is very light. I’ve found the best way to use it is with a wet brush over an eye primer to make the colour properly show up, but overall this was really disappointing from such a high-end brand like Kevyn Aucoin.

Estee Lauder Pure Colour Nail Polish in Empowered (RRP £15)

Luxury nail polish fans will absolutely love these Estee Lauder Pure Colour Nail Polishes and there’s a choice of four different shades available in this month’s box. I received the colour Empowered which is a stunning, bright orange red with a little gold shimmer running through it. It applies smoothly in just two coats and delivers some serious shine – I love it!

No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serum (RRP £22.50)

Boots’ premium No7 skin care range is a hugely popular line for many women in the UK and I’ve had the pleasure of trying a number of their products in the past. This Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serum is a best seller and is aimed at women aged 30-45 who are concerned about wrinkles. Using an innovative and clinically proven formula, this serum aims to deliver anti-wrinkle results that get even better over time with continued use, as it helps to repair, enhance and protect the skin against damaging and ageing free radicals and environmental aggressors. I don’t have any visible wrinkles just yet (just a couple of fine lines around my eyes that are starting to appear), so I’ll be passing this onto my older sister as I know she loves the No7 range and she’s in the right age bracket for it.

Eucerin Even Brighter Night Cream (RRP £7.99)

This night cream from Eucerin has been specifically formulated to brighten skin tones that are uneven due to excessive exposure to UV sunlight, hormonal influences and/or oxidative stress. It helps with pigmentation spots, dark patches, age spots, and can reduce the appearance of freckles by giving the complexion a more even and brighter look. I don’t really have any of these problems myself, but my mum has some age spots so I’ll be giving this to her to try out as she’s always looking for new skincare products to use.

Our score: 9.0/ 10

The contents of this month's box are worth a staggering £81.49 making it incredible value for money given that the box costs just £25! My favourite products are the bareMinerals Liquid Lipstick and the Estee Lauder Nail Polish, although I was disappointed by the Keyvn Aucoin Eye Pigment. Despite the two skin care products not being for my skin type, I know that both my sister and my mum will enjoy using them, so it's a pretty good box overall!
