Sticking with the overall theme of Summer like many of the beauty boxes have chosen to do this month, June’s My Little Box has also curated a special selection of summery beauty products to take with you to the beach and on your holiday travels. The ‘Summer Vibes’ box features a mixture of fashion, lifestyle, hair, makeup and food/drink so it has you completely covered.
So what’s inside the box?
First up, we have My Little Box’s excellent My Little World magazine which accompanies it every month and which I always enjoy reading over a cup of tea! This summer edition has features and articles on the best European festivals, hair tutorials that will work on unwashed hair, creative ways to stand out at a festival, tips on how to use the products in the box, summer/festival fashion spread and recommended new apps to download, plus there are fun playlists to help you to discover some new music.
Underneath the magazine, I found this month’s cute Kanako print with illustrations themed around ‘Are You A Summer Girl?’.
There’s also a one-size white vest top from My Little Box’s own brand line which has the fun slogan ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Sun’ (worth £15). The quality of this is on the thin and flimsy side if I’m honest, but I still think it’s pretty cool and it would be nice to wear over a bikini on the beach.
Instead of the usual cotton drawstring bag, there’s a fab turquoise, slightly see-through PVC zip up bag called a ‘Bikini Lifeguard’ (worth £6). This little swimsuit pouch would be perfect for putting wet swimwear in or you could use it for your beauty essentials when travelling. Neat idea My Little Box!
Moving onto the beauty related items, we have a full-size bottle of My Little Box’s own brand Beach Hair Sea Sun Hair Sea Salt Spray (worth £7). I often use sea salt sprays on holiday as they help to create the easiest messy beachy waves in your hair and this one has the added benefit of being formulated with UV filters so your hair won’t get frazzled by the sun whilst you’re sunbathing.
Next up, I found a deluxe travel size sample of Too Faced Glitter Glue Glitter Shadow Primer (5g, worth £10) which I’m really looking forward to trying out as I love Too Faced’s eyeshadow primer and imagine this will be just as good! As the name suggests, you can use this to adhere glitter to the eyes or face and it helps to stop all that sparkle falling out. Perfect for festivals!
For nails, there’s a super cute Ciate Mini Paint Pot (worth £6). I’ve seen some different shades in people’s boxes this month, but I received the colour ‘Glossip’ which is a bright red-toned orange – gorgeous! I have a lot of Ciate nail polishes in my collection and the quality is always fantastic with them. Love this mini as it’ll easily fit into my travel makeup bag so I can take it on holiday with me.
The seventh and final item in June’s My Little Box is a sachet of Kusmi Tea Iced Tea in the flavour AquaRosa which is a blend of Hibiscus, Red Fruits and Berries (worth £1.40). Being a francophile, I’ve bought and tasted a lot of Kusmi Teas’ as they’re one my favourite artisan tea brands, so I’m looking forward to trying out this special Iced Tea version. To prepare it, you just pop the tea sachet into a jug of water, fill with ice and let it infuse for a refreshing fruity drink. Delicious!
Although I’m not overly impressed with the quality of the vest top, the other products in this month’s box more than make up for it and still represent excellent value for money. I love the summer theme and look forward to using all of the products on holiday!
