My Little Box – August 2016: Friends

Making time to meet up with your friends and just having a good time hanging out with them in the sun, is one of the best things about the summer holidays. With this in mind, I was pleased to see that August’s My Little Box celebrates this way of life with a special ‘Friends‘ themed box.IMG_6048My Little World Magazine and Kanako Print

Inside the box, I found the usual two monthly suspects; the fab My Little World Magazine and a cute Kanako Prin with the slogan ‘In Girlsquad We Trust’, referencing Taylor Swift and her uber-cool clique of girl pals. The magazine is full of friends related articles and features such as fun ideas for days out, stylist interviews, fitness tips to share with your best friends and a list of must-have group related apps so that you can all keep in touch when you’re out and about.IMG_6049IMG_6051My Little Box Nail Kit (worth £7.50)

The first item that I pulled out was this cute Nail Kit which comes housed in a colourful, padded little push-lock kit. Inside are all the tools you need for a DIY manicure at home for either yourself or for doing one for a friend. I think this is such a useful set to have in your handbag or travel bag.IMG_6052Propercorn Sweet and Salty Popcorn (14g bag, worth 50p)

For a yummy snack to share with your mates whilst you are all watching a movie or having a catch up at home, there’s a bag of Propercorn popcorn in a delicious sweet and salty flavour. I love popcorn and at only 60 calories a bag, this is a great healthy alternative to a bag of crisps.IMG_6055Batiste Hold Me Hairspray (75ml, worth £2)

Moving onto the beauty products in this month’s box, there are three starting with this hairspray. Batiste are famous for their dry shampoos, so it’s great to see them branching out and releasing more styling products. This Hold Me Hairspray comes in a convenient travel size can and is infused with Keratin and Inca Inchi Oil to give a boost of moisture to dry hair, whilst providing non-sticky, lightweight, long-lasting hold that brushes out easily.IMG_6056Kadalys Hydramuse Comforting Face Cream (40ml, worth €22)

From French skincare brand, Kadalys, we have their Hydramuse Comforting Face Cream which has been specially formulated for sun parched skin. It’s packed full of an ultra moisturising cocktail of banana and mango butters, with added hyaluronic acid to retain all that moisture and hydrate the skin deep down. Sounds good!IMG_6060My Little Beauty Summer Lips SPF 15 (worth £12)

Lips can often be forgotten about when we’re enjoying the sun, so this is a really handy little product to have nearby. It’s a tinted lip sunscreen that gives you a very subtle wash of colour on the lips and provides SPF 15 protection against the sun’s harmful rays. I love, love, love the cute flamingo print on the tube as well!IMG_6061Printie Clip-On Fisheye Camera Phone Lens (worth £12)

The last item is a fun lifestyle one and is a handy fish-eye lens that you can clip onto any smartphone that has a camera. It goes directly over your phone’s camera lens so you can instantly capture scenes with your friends with a rounded fish-eye twist.

I thought this was a cute box all round – loved the theme and the addition of some interesting new products and brands.

Our score: 8.0/ 10

Great to see some different brands in this month's box and the popcorn was a tasty treat! Particularly loved the tinted lip sunscreen and Kadalys face cream.
