Latest In Beauty – Build Your Own Beauty Box: January 2017

Most beauty boxes give you a surprise selection of products every month in return for your subscription fee, and whilst I love a surprise as much as the next person, you do run the risk of ending up with products that you may not like or won’t use.

Latest In Beauty are a company who offer beauty fans the personalised option of building their very own beauty box, which you can do every month as part of a subscription, or you can purchase one-off boxes whenever you fancy treating yourself to some new products. There are three levels to choose from if you decide to go down the subscription route and with each option, you’ll receive free delivery on all boxes and a free limited edition makeup bag with your first month’s box. You can also unsubscribe at any time. So you can choose from:-

Beauty Novice – 3 products for £9 per month

Beauty Enthusiast –  6 products for £15 per month

Beauty Guru – 9 products for £18 per month

There’s a huge variety of products to choose from every month (for example, there are currently over 200 different products in stock at the moment!), with new items being added on a weekly basis, and a good mix of both full size and deluxe/travel size samples available. You can mix and match from all areas of beauty as well; there’s skincare, makeup, haircare, pampering treats, beauty accessories – you name, they probably have it! The range of brands is also impressive with the likes of REN, Weleda, Rimmel, Molton Brown, Philosophy, The Organic Pharmacy, bareMinerals, Indeed Labs, Illmasqua, Burt’s Bees, Benefit and Eyeko, to name just a few.

I was kindly asked to review a Beauty Guru box, where I chose the following 9 products to give you an idea of what they have to offer:-Rituals Under A Fig Tree Mini Home Fragrance (50ml)

I love Rituals bath and body products, yet I didn’t know that they had a home fragrance line until I spotted this mini reed diffuser on Latest In Beauty. This is in their Under A Fig Tree scent which is just beautiful as it’s sweet, fresh, inviting and warming. Perfect to use in a small bedroom or bathroom.Anne Semonin Bath & Shower Gel in Exotic Verbena (80ml)

A lovely bath & shower gel which creates lots of luxurious bubbles, and has a wonderful uplifting scent. I love anything verbena based and this one did not disappoint.Molton Brown Hand Wash in Frankincense & Allspice (100ml)

You can’t go wrong with Molton Brown, and this hand wash is both festive and functional. I had a lot of compliments from friends and family over the holidays when they came around and used this!Aromatherapy Associates Bath & Shower Oil in Support Breathe (3ml)

Aromatherapy Associates make some of the best bath oils that I’ve ever tried, with some really unique scent combinations. This one in Support Breathe is very refreshing and cleansing as it features Eucalyptus, Pine, Tea Tree and Peppermint. Ideal for easing a bad cold or hangover.Weleda Skin Food (30ml)

Everything else in the box arrived in perfect condition, but this tube of Skin Food seems to have gotten a little squashed at the bottom during transit! No harm done to the product though, and I absolutely swear by Skin Food in the winter months. It’s a super thick, multi-purpose moisturiser that will fix dry hands and cuticles virtually overnight. Amazing stuff. The Library Of Fragrance Spray in Baby Powder (15ml)

A handy travel size perfume to pop into your handbag. It smells exactly like baby powder too! Fresh and oh-so clean, it’s a good pick-me-up scent to use after a gym session.Pixi Endless Silky Eyeliner in Black (0.8g travel size)

I’ve been meaning to try some of Pixi’s makeup for a while as I love their Glow Tonic, so when I spotted this eyeliner, it was immediately added to the box. It’s richly pigmented, and goes on nice and smoothly, without dragging, and lasts all day too. A fantastic find – thanks Latest In Beauty!Living Proof Style Lab Instant Texture Mist (50ml)

An easy to use texture spray for multiple hairstyles and lengths, this is perfect for also adding some extra volume and lift at the roots.Nip & Fab Glycolic Fix Daily Cleansing Pads (travel pack of 5)

I picked these up as I know they’ll come in handy for my next holiday. These cleansing and exfoliating pads with Glycolic acid are a great way to keep the skin clear and to help brighten it up.

I’m so impressed with the sheer variety of products that Latest In Beauty have on their website – it took me a while to pick what I wanted because I was so spoilt for choice! Their build your own beauty boxes offer fantastic value for money (for example, the Beauty Guru option works out at just £2 per product) and it’s a great way to try out products from luxury brands.
