GeekGear – July 2019

GeekGear is a company which sends out boxes full of geeky awesomeness! It costs £19.99 per month, and ships worldwide.

The box arrived ever so slightly dented, but the packing is pretty good and there’s no damage.

Lots of recycling-friendly shred for protection!

The menu gives you a list of the items, plus their RRPs. GeekGear items are generally exclusive, so the values aren’t really objective, but overall they are fair.

There’s also a little scratchcard which might give you a prize or a discount code on an order.

This month’s t-shirt is this cool Back to the Future design, with the familiar sight of Marty McFly standing by the DeLorean looking at his watch! There’s no actual Back to the Future words, but everyone knows this picture, right?
As always it’s a nice shirt, 100% cotton and a great retro theme!

Another Back to the Future item! This time it’s the famous OUTATIME licence plate from the Time Machine! It’s a nice one too, properly embossed with the retro California logo.

Gamers will love this Doomhammer Replica from World of Warcraft. It’s a good size to display, about 7” long, made from resin, with lovely detailing.

Straight into comic books now, with this fun Superhero Bookmark. The quote is of course from Tony Stark/Iron Man, and the bookmark actually stands up on its own with the little Iron Man feet!

There’s another wearable this month, this fun Baseball Cap. The design is inspired by retro games lives counter with three little red hearts.

Finally, a How To Train Your Dragon A4 Print. This is a licensed piece of promotional art from the latest How To Train Your Dragon movie, featuring Hiccup, Toothless, and Light Fury. Great for fans of the franchise!

Our score: 8.8/ 10

My favourite item this month is definitely the licence plate! I love the Back to the Future movies, and this is a great prop replica. It also retails at around £13, so this is a great value item, and goes perfectly with the t-shirt. The bookmark is fun, though I'm not sure how practical it is for actual use! But it looks great on display. There's a great combination of geek interest here, movies, games, and comics. GeekGear picks out fun and often useful items, and the chances of enjoying everything are pretty high, but even if the odd item is not to your taste they're great for gifting! The value is always pretty impressive too. This month is strong on the retro treats!
