Geek Gear – June 2016 : Game Over

This month’s Geek Gear theme was ‘Game Over’ and with eight geeky goodies in the box I was really happy with the contents. If you are new to the Geek Gear subscription box concept each month when you subscribe you will receive 5-10 items in a ‘treasure chest’ designed box. At £19.99 per month for subscription each box will have £40-£60 of geek/gamer goodies to enjoy always including a themed t-shirt, which is great value for the cost. The beauty of this subscription is that you can cancel at any time as you are not locked into any lengthy subscription.

Back to this month’s box and it was jam packed with ‘Game Over’ themed products, first out of the box was the exclusive Legend Of Zelda Cap which is the snapback style with the easily identifiable Royal Crest symbol in yellow. For Zelda fans this will take you straight back to the land of Hyrule and will become a favourite cap this Summer and with a retail value at £19.99 it offers incredible value as this is the cost of the whole box alone.

From World Of Warcraft an exclusive t-shirt was included in the box, in cotton and featuring the iconic logo’s from the online game on the front. I love the premium feel and look of the t-shirt and what a perfect item for any World Of Warcraft fan. In most of the Geek Gear boxes you will find a Pop Vinyl or Vinyl figure of some sort and this month was a Batman Funko Vinyl Figure from the Arkham Series. Each box contains one figure and as their are 12 to collect there is every chance that each subscriber could get their favourite one! In my box I got a Harley Quinn figure and although diminutive (2.5 inches tall) very collectable and I have to say it spurs me on to collect the whole 12.

Perfect for adorning a multitude of your favourite things the three exclusive gamer stickers are bright and eye catching in a trio of unique designs from World Of Warcraft. I really like this addition to the box this month as they are different and collectable and stickers I haven’t seen anywhere else as well. Also for decoration the Space Invader Vinyl Wall Stickers are bright, colourful and customisable as far as positioning is concerned, you can add them to your wall (or wherever you want) in any pattern you decide upon. Such a retro and authentic design that will look great on any surface you choose.

Another exclusive from Geek Gear is the four ‘Game Over’ badges featuring Mario, PacMan and Space Invaders all ideal for adding to bags, tops, jackets or anywhere you like and as they are exclusive to Geek Gear don’t expect to find them anywhere else. Following the retro feel of this month’s box next out are two items that really deserve to be on any retro fan’s wall the first a Nintendo Print showing ‘blueprints’ of the evolution of gaming controllers, very cool and on fairly thick card to last. Finally the Nintendo ‘Grow Up Get A Life’ Poster from Super Mario is colourful and perfect for framing and adding to any gamers room.

So there you have it another month from Geek Gear and I have to say it’s amazing value for money and I am loving the themed boxes more and more as you always get a few really unexpected items. Aside from the great value I have been impressed with the quality of the items included over the last few months and this month’s box is no exception. It is a geeky gamers dream box and if you are not a fan of receiving the ever popular Pop Vinyls in every month’s box perhaps this is the box for you as they are only sporadically included in the subscription but you will always find an alternative such as the Vinyl Figure in this month’s box.

If you would like to try out the Geek Gear subscription box I have a very special offer from the Geek Gear folk to give you 10% off – and not just off your first box either, that’s 10% discount off every month’s subscription you sign up for.
