Fuel The Crew is a health and fitness subscription box that helps you to discover new healthy snacks to ‘stay fuelled’, as well as supporting you towards your fitness goals. Each month, you’ll be sent a box that can contain products such as protein bars, healthy snacks and food supplements, plus you’ll also receive 1 or 2 items of fitness equipment, apparel or accessories, which I feel really helps to set Fuel The Crew apart from the other fitness boxes that are currently on the market. The contents of each month’s box will be a surprise selection, but it will be valued at 50% more than what you pay for it to guarantee value for money.
In addition to the box, subscribers can access member’s only online benefits such as new workouts, fitness events and nutritional food creations, and 5% of the profits made by Fuel The Crew are donated to youth sports initiatives, which is a nice way to give back to the community.
I was sent December’s box to try out and here’s everything that I found inside!
Body Core Slider Discs
So for the fitness equipment element of the box, I received a pair of blue Body Core Slider Discs which you can use in your everyday workouts to help build muscle as they act as resistance aids. You can use them with most types of Lunges, Squats, Planks etc, to give your body a full workout and best of all, they take up hardly any room, so you could easily tuck them alongside your fitness DVDs for your next at-home exercise session. Neat!
The Protein Works Nutty in Crunchy Peanut Explosion
Moving onto the snacks, I found a nutty protein ball from The Protein Works which contains ingredients such as Raw Cacao, Organic Coconut Oil, Whey Protein and 61% roasted Peanuts. Each ball gives you 10.5g of protein and this flavour called Crunchy Peanut Explosion tastes delicious! If you love peanuts and peanut butter, you’ll definitely love this one.
Eat Grub Coconut and Cacao Natural Energy Bar
For something different, this Natural Energy Bar from Eat Grub gets its protein from Cricket Powder, which is made from, yes you’ve guessed it, crickets! It doesn’t sound like the most appetising thing ever, BUT I’ve read a lot about how insects can be used around the world as a cheap and environmentally sustainable source of protein, so it’s interesting to see this now being used in products like this bar. As I’m a vegetarian I skipped on it though, but my housemates said it didn’t really taste any different to a Nakd bar – interesting!
Grenade Reload Protein Flapjack in Fused Fruit
I’m a big fan of flapjacks and always try to pick up the healthier versions, but I haven’t tried these Grenade ones before. Made with Whole Oats, a Tri-Source blend of Protein (including Soya and Whey), and Dried Fruit, this is a satisfyingly chewy and fruity flapjack treat that provides a whopping 18.6g of protein per bar.
Inspiral Crispy Beetroot & Acerola Kale Chips
Sadly, these had taken quite the bashing during transit so arrived rather squashed but they were interesting to try nonetheless! These are air-dried Kale leaves which have been coated in a zingy Beetroot and Acerola Cherry seed sauce. They sound a little strange but are actually very yummy! Raw, organic, gluten-free and suitable for vegans.
Bounce Protein Energy Bites in Sweet & Salty Almond
The last product in this month’s Fuel The Crew box is a resealable pouch of the new and improved Bounce Protein Energy Bites in a share bag size (although it’s very easy to want to try to eat the whole bag yourself because they are so moreish!). These ones are in the Sweet & Salty Almond flavour which is absolutely delicious!
