The October degustabox is Autumn themed and by far the most packed box I have ever received, I’m pretty sure it will take me the whole of Autumn to finish. There is an incredible mix of well known brands and some new brands, there is enough different products to keep everyone in the family happy.
I had never heard of IAM Souper before but I am a sucker for anything high in protein so I was excited to take it to work for my lunch and I wasn’t disappointed. They were full of flavour and chunky ingredients and the fact that they high in protein made me fuller for longer and at £1.49 cheaper than big brand soups.
Ok we have all tried simpler chocolate filled brioche but pitch choco bars has taken them to a whole new level with filling there’s with a mini chocolate bar. It’s safe to say they didn’t last long in our house with me and my partner literally wrestling over the last one.
I invited my too small nieces over for there dinner, usually fussy eaters I let them go through the box and see if there was anything they wanted to eat. Straight away they picked Heniz dry pasta shapes and kids pasta sauce and spent 30 minutes explaining to me that they are little minions. They are it so quick I thought they would be sick, best of all I had no quilt because the pasta is 50% wheat and the sauce has no added salt or sugar. My cupboards are now full of the Heinz kids range ready for their next visit.
Sometimes after a long day at work I just want a quick and easy meal with no fuss and Maggi fusian noodles have it covered. No better or worse than other big branded noodles but a lot cheaper at only £1.39 for two packets.
I am always looking for healthy snacks for my gym bag and work desk, and when it comes to snacks I try to vegan friendly snacks as they have a lot less bad fats in them. Beloved date fruit hearts are cold pressed date bars with natural flavouring, and again a lot cheaper than other such bars on the market. I will absolutely be swapping my usual fruit bar for this one.
Two of the biggest brands in the box this month were Robinson’s and Hersheys. I’m not a fan of a American chocolate so I gave the Hersheys cookie n creme bar to my partner who wolfed it down in seconds, which for him was a very good sign. I keep the Robinson’s squah’d orange in my handbag for when I’m out and about and water is just not cutting it. It took me a couple of tries to get the concentration right but once I did I was adding it to all my water throughout the day and it stops me buying frizzy drinks.
I wasn’t sure about Jim jams 83% less sugar milk chocolate spread as I always have the most popular branded chocolate spread. But I thought I would give it a go and I can safely say but the third helping I didn’t notice the difference. So this has definitely been swapped because it has a lot less sugar. What I love about getting the degustabox is it forces me to try new things and introduces me to new products.
Probably my least favourite product in the box, but that’s just because I didn’t like the texture ( think chipstick texture ). What I liked about Yushoi snapea rice sticks is that they are vegetarian and vegan friendly and a perfect snack, just make sure you watch the portion sizes.
We don’t have take aways in our house instead we have Friday night homemade take away, we make our own visions. On our last Friday night we got some ribs and coated them in this Levi Roots smokey bbq coat n cook, paired it with some sweet potato wedges and enjoyed a meal as good as a take away at half the price and we knew exactly what was in it.
