Degustabox – November 2017

It’s always a fun day when the new Degustabox arrives! Every month, Degustabox will send you a big box of food and drink products, many of which are brand new that have recently launched onto the UK market. Inside, you’ll find a surprise selection that may include products such as cereal, soft drinks, healthy foods, chocolate, savoury snacks, confectionary, cooking sauces and much more! It’s a brilliant way to discover new products and treats, and a really affordable option for families and students as the overall price of the contents are always a lot more than the monthly subscription box fee.

November’s Degustabox arrived last week and I couldn’t wait to try everything out (with a little help from friends and family of course!). Here’s what was inside a rather Christmassy themed box:-

Planters Fruity Chocolate Crunch (RRP £2)

Ready for the festive season, Planters have these huge bags of indulgent fruit and nut mixes. This one included Peanuts, Jumbo Raisins, Sliced Cranberries and Milk Chocolate Buttons, for a yummy Christmas treat that can be shared with the whole family. I think this would be perfect to pour into a bowl for everyone to nibble on during a festive movie.

The Jelly Bean Factory Super Sours (RRP £1.79)

I love sour sweets, so when I saw these they were immediately plucked out of the box! From The Jelly Bean Factory, these are sour jelly beans which are free from gelatine, gluten and nuts, making them suitable for vegetarians and coeliacs. There’s a fruity mix of flavours in this bag and the jelly beans have a nice subtle sour tang to them – yum!

Propercorn Perfectly Sweet Popcorn (RRP £0.89)

For a healthier snack, this bag of Propercorn is a delicious guilt-free option as it only contains 130 calories per pack. The corn is hand-popped and sprinkled with unrefined, Fairtrade sugar for a scrumptious light caramel flavour.

Cadbury’s Picnic Bites (RRP £1.99)

New from Cadbury’s this month are these super moreish, bite-sized pieces of Cadbury’s Picnic bars. I loved these and being in a smaller size makes them easier to share (or devour more of – whichever way you want to look at them!).

Ryvita Multigrain Rye Cakes (RRP £1.39)

Another new product, this time from Ryvita, are these healthy Rye Cakes. Made with popped wholegrain rye, they are naturally high in fibre, low in fat and are only 23 calories per rye cake. They can be topped with just about anything, making them a versatile product to have in your cupboard when you want a quick and easy snack or fast lunch option.

The English Provender Co Caramelised Red Onion Chutney (RRP £1.99)

A good quality chutney is an essential side to add to your festive cheeseboard and this one from The English Provender Co is packed full of flavour. I imagine that this would go well with lots of other dishes too and makes a nice savoury spread in cheese sandwiches.

Taylors Of Harrogate Ground Coffee in Cacao Superior Columbia (RRP £4.99)

In your Degustabox this month, you’ll find one of two flavours of Taylors of Harrogate Ground Coffee and I was really pleased to receive this Cacao Superior Columbia blend because it’s amazing! It has rich chocolate and caramel tones to it which makes the coffee taste wonderfully indulgent – I would definitely buy this again!

ALO Crisp Fuji Apple & Pear Drink (RRP £1.99)

Next up, we have a soft drink from ALO which prides itself on being the only quality-proven brand of Aloe Vera drinks in the UK drinks market today. Their Fuji Apple & Pear flavoured Aloe Vera drink is lovely and refreshing, and makes a nice change from a normal bottle of flavoured water.

Dalston’s Fizzy Apple (RRP £1.99)

Made from a blend of Jonagold, Idared and Bramley apples that are sourced from Kent, this hand-mashed Fizzy Apple soft drink is really refreshing and full of natural fruity flavour – I loved it and the packaging is very cool too!

Kallo Organic Chicken Stock Pots (RRP £1.80)

There’s a choice of three different flavours of Organic Stock Pots from Kallo and you’ll find either Beef, Chicken or Vegetable in your box this month. I was a little gutted that I got Chicken as I’m a vegetarian, but I’ve passed it onto my mum who will happily put it to good use!

Weetabix Additions Apple & Raisin

New from Weetabix are their Additions range which has added fruits to their classic 100% whole grain Weetabix cereal. This flavour is Apple & Raisin and it also has a little Cinnamon in there which really helps to liven up the Weetabix for a quick and easy breakfast option at home.

Filippo Berio – One of three variations!

In this month’s Degustabox, subscribers will receive one Filippo Berio product from the following three variations:-

Filippo Berio Rio Mare Tuna in Olive Oil (RRP £3)

This high-quality tuna comes packed in Olive Oil for a healthy and tasty snack or lunch. My sister said that this was one of the nicest tinned tunas that she’s tried!

Filippo Berio Fennel & Garlic Crostini (RRP £1.99)

These bite-sized Crostinis are made from freshly baked bread that’s mixed with aromatic fennel seeds, extra virgin olive oil and a hint of garlic. Savoury and crunchy, they are delicious with dips or drinks.

Filippo Berio Classic Pesto (RRP £2.40)

Made with Italian Basil and the finest Extra Virgin Olive Oil, this Classic Pesto is the perfect companion to your pasta and an easy way to whip up a tasty and satisfying Italian dish in a matter of minutes. I always have jars of pesto in my cupboard and this is one of my favourite brands.
