Cheese Posties – #27 Ze Tasty German

Cheeseposties are the tastiest and most fun way to get your cheese fix. This deliciously novel subscription service sends you a box of high-quality ingredients so that you can indulge and make your very own gourmet cheese toastie in the comfort of your home or office space (wherever you fancy having it sent to!).

Not only is this subscription box one of the most original, if not the most original, boxes that I’ve come across, but their imaginative cheese toasties flavours are seriously out of this world! They have a wide range of quirky combinations and offer both sweet and savoury options to tickle your taste buds. When you sign up to Cheeseposties you can choose your preferences, so check out their online Cheeseboard to see what flavours they have available as they’ll send you a surprise one based on what you fill in on the short questionnaire. Cheeseposties arrive via 1st Class Royal Mail to ensure that they reach you as soon and fresh as possible, and the boxes slip nicely through the letterbox.

Depending on your cheese cravings and personal budget, you can choose to have a Cheesepostie delivered every week, fortnight or month, and they also make awesome gifts if you’re looking for something fun and different!

This month I received the Ze Tasty German flavour which looks like an interesting savoury combination!

As you can see, all of the ingredients are packaged neatly in their own compartments within the box and the new stronger seal wraps on the plastic tubs help to make sure that there are no accidents or spillages en route! Seriously though, the new plastic wrapping is incredibly strong – I always need to use a knife to get into them!

To make the Ze Tasty German Cheesepostie, I received the following ingredients:-

  • Two slices of White Bread
  • Two mini packs of Kerrygold Butter
  • Gruyère Cheese
  • Mustard
  • Sauerkraut

For this one, I decided to spread all of the Mustard on one side and topped it off with the Sauerkraut, whilst I buttered the other side and placed all of the Gruyère Cheese on top of that. I then folded them together and placed them in a hot frying pan. You can, of course, use the enclosed toasting bag and pop it into the toaster – either way, it’s going to taste delicious!

The final result – Ze Tasty German Cheesepostie!

I love Sauerkraut, but the combination of that with the Gruyère and the Mustard was a match made in heaven. The Gruyère had gently softened into everything and the bread toasted beautifully as always (the bread that Cheeseposties use is always top quality) to make a deliciously different savoury cheese toastie!

Our score: 9.4/ 10

It was really nice to try the Gruyère as I haven't had it from Cheeseposties before so I hope they'll introduce more cheeses to the Cheeseboard - it really helps to keep things interesting and exciting!  Well done on coming up with this one Cheeseposties!
