There are quite a few subscription boxes that are aimed at teens these days, but for females, Bettybox is a brilliant box to try out as includes your month’s supply of period essentials, as well as products such as teen-friendly makeup, skincare, chocolate/sweets and pampering goodies.
Bettybox is presented as a large colourful box that has smaller boxes inside, as well as a drawstring bag.
First things first, your period essentials! These are packed into two boxes called ‘For Later’ and ‘For Night’, and there’s also a handy cotton drawstring bag which has supplies in it that you can pop straight into your school bag/handbag etc. When you sign up to Bettybox, you can pick what kind of essentials you want (pads, tampons, a mix of both etc), and what brand you want them from (all the mainstream brands are included such as Always, Bodyform and Tampax).
Above is the pads only mix which contains regular pads, night pads and panty liners.
The ‘For You’ box contains all that month’s beauty and lifestyle products, and September’s theme is called Girl Squad which is pretty cool! Let’s check out what’s inside:-
Balance Me Balance Face Moisturiser (travel size, full size retails for £24)
Say goodbye to shine with this 99% natural face moisturiser from Balance Me. Designed for skin that’s prone to breakouts, this lightweight cream gives your complexion the hydration that it needs without clogging up your pores. It feels light and fresh, and this travel size tube is great for after-school sports bags.
Patisserie De Bain Raspberry Roulade Bath & Shower Creme (travel size, full size retails for £3.99)
Next up, there’s a Bath & Shower Creme from the dessert based beauty brand, Patisserie De Bain, and this smells good enough to eat! I got the Raspberry Roulade scent and it’s amazing – very sweet and creamy. You can use this as a quick shower creme or indulge in a long bath with it when you fancy a pampering session.
Oh K! Snail Sheet Mask (RRP £8.50)
Sheet masks are hugely popular and this one is made in Korea by the brand Oh K! It contains snail slime, which to be honest, doesn’t sound all that appealing, but apparently, it’s a good ingredient for hydrating and softening your skin so you have to try it to see if it works!
Sebamed Clear Face Facial Toner (travel size, full size retails for £5.69)
If your skin has lots of blemishes, this toner from Sebamed can help to clear it up as it’s specially formulated for acne and breakout-prone skin. It removes dirt, pollution and excess oil, all of which can cause breakouts and spots, plus it contains Witch Hazel to help soothe irritated skin.
Bubble T Macaroon Lip Balm (RRP £2.99)
How cute is this macaroon shaped lip balm?! Free from parabens, SLS and cruelty-free, Bubble T’s Macaroon Lip Balm is enriched with Jojoba Oil to keep dry chapped lips at bay. This one also has a Lemongrass and Green Tea flavour which is nice and sweet.
Montezuma’s Minted Milk Chocolate (small bar, full size retails for £2.59)
For something chocolatey this month, Bettybox have included a bar of Montezuma’s Minted Milk Chocolate which is absolutely delicious and has crunchy peppermint pieces in it. I love anything mint flavoured so this is a new fave!
Drink Me Chai Spiced Chai Latte (sample, full size retails for £2.50)
The last product is a sample of Drink Me Chai Spiced Chai Latte which also tastes delicious and is perfect for warming you up on a cold evening like tonight – yum!
September’s Bettybox also came with an extra box to give you your best friend – how cool is that?!
