My Petlibro Granary 2 Vision review is positive: after setting it up at home for my cat Kira, I use it every day and I would recommend it with a few caveats. Automatic meals, a photo each time she eats and a feeding log in the app have made our routine easier. At £229.99 (4 November 2026, before promotions), though, the feeder is only worth it if you will use the camera, and you should factor in the desiccant bags and any subscription before you buy.
There are small habits you can do without, like a cat waking you up to demand breakfast. 😸 Kira has always made mealtimes a little ritual, and until now she waited, patiently or not, for us to serve her kibble. The Granary 2 Vision found its place in our home quickly.
This review is based on using it with a single cat. Multi-pet recognition and the power-cut safeguards are features Petlibro advertises, and I did not test them. Prices and specifications were checked on the official UK Petlibro store on 4 November 2026.

The official Granary 2 series page groups several versions. Select Granary 2 Vision, the single-bowl model I used, rather than the Vision Duo.
Setup and app: easy to get going with Kira
The first good surprise was how simple the setup is. Once the feeder is connected to the app, you create a profile for your pet with details such as name and birth date. For Kira, that meant a little personal file of her own.

You then set the portion sizes and meal times. What appeals to me is moving away from topping up a bowl and hoping for the best: the meal information is in the same app.
Scheduled meals or Smart Refill Mode: what changes day to day
I like having two feeding modes. With scheduled meals you set times and portions. Smart Refill Mode tops up the bowl when the amount left drops below the level you choose, within the daily limit you set. Which one suits you depends on whether your cat eats at fixed times or prefers to graze.

For me this is the most practical part. Kira no longer has to wait until one of us is free to get her kibble. At night, during our working days or when we are busy, she can eat without depending on us. A button on the feeder also lets you dispense a portion by hand, which is useful for a one-off meal without changing the schedule.
Kira no longer has to wait until one of us is free to get her kibble.
A portion is approximate. Petlibro says the dispenser works in steps of about 1/12 cup (roughly 10 g, or 20 ml), with up to 6 portions per dispense, so it is not built for exact gram-level rations.
Power cut or Wi-Fi outage: two different situations
Petlibro advertises up to 48 hours of backup battery on the Vision, based on its laboratory conditions. It takes over from mains power and is designed for emergencies, not for everyday use. If your internet goes down, scheduled meals continue but remote control is unavailable. I did not measure battery life or simulate an outage, so treat those figures as the manufacturer’s claim.
It does not replace someone checking in when you are away for several days. The camera cannot refill the hopper or step in at home.
Camera and photos: keeping an eye on mealtimes
This was probably the feature that won me over most. The Granary 2 Vision has a 1080p camera with night vision. Each time Kira eats, I can find a photo of her meal in the app with the time she came, and it is surprisingly fun to learn her habits and see when she decides to eat.

Live viewing is free. To record and play back video, you need a Video Cloud AI plan, because the feeder has no SD card slot.
Several cats: recognition is not the same as reserving a bowl
The recognition feature assigns each visit to a pet profile. The Granary 2 Vision does not stop other cats from eating from the bowl. I would not choose it just to keep two diets apart. Kira is on her own in our home, so I did not test how reliably it tells animals apart.
Food tracking: a useful scale, with one caveat
The other feature I find genuinely helpful is the scale built into the bowl. It measures food to within a gram, so you can see what was dispensed, eaten and left. Instead of filling a bowl and hoping your cat eats enough, or not too much, you can look at the numbers.

Weighing to the gram is not the same as dispensing to the gram. The scale tracks what is in the bowl, while the mechanism in the hopper releases approximate portions. If you need an exact ration in grams, keep that in mind.

I enjoy checking the history and learning her habits. I did not compare the scale with a separate kitchen scale or measure its accuracy over many dispenses, so my impression of convenience is not a technical validation.
Hopper and freshness: the little kibble ritual
Kira is a real fan of freshly served kibble. She often had some left in her bowl and still came to ask for a new round straight from the bag. Mademoiselle has her standards! 😂

With the Granary 2 Vision, the kibble stays in the hopper and reaches the bowl at the time you set. I no longer have to open the bag several times a day. It is mostly this change in our routine that I like, and I did not run a comparison test on freshness. The feeder is designed for dry kibble only and does not support wet food.
And what a pleasure not to handle every single request for a refill!

Petlibro recommends replacing the desiccant every 14 days, using two bags at a time. The store lists an 8-pack of Granary 2 desiccant bags at £19.99, with 30% off the first order (£13.99) if you choose a delivery plan. At two bags every 14 days, one 8-pack covers about eight weeks, which works out at roughly £130 a year at the list price. That is my own arithmetic, so check the pack size, renewal terms and any discount before you commit.
What does the Petlibro Granary 2 Vision really cost?
| Cost | What I found (4 November 2026) |
|---|---|
| Feeder | £229.99 on the official UK store, before promotions |
| Desiccant bags | £19.99 for an 8-pack, with 30% off the first order (£13.99) on a delivery plan |
| Petlibro Care (optional) | Care Standard, for one pet, is listed at £59.99 on the UK store. Care Plus covers several pets. |
| Video Cloud AI (optional) | Needed to record and replay video. The UK store lists an AI Standard plan (7 days of storage) at £99.99 and an AI Premium plan with 30 days of storage. Check the billing period at checkout. |
| Delivery | Delivery is free on orders of £50 or more and costs £4.99 below that, with 3 to 6 working days quoted from a UK warehouse. |
| Returns and warranty | 90-day money-back guarantee on the Granary 2 series and a 24-month warranty (see the store for conditions) |
On the UK store, the Petlibro Care page lists Care Standard at £59.99 for tracking a single pet and says Care Plus covers several pets. It also states that no subscription is needed to use a Petlibro feeder. For video, the Video Cloud AI page shows an AI Standard plan with 7 days of storage and an AI Premium plan with 30 days. I did not pay for either, so I cannot tell you what they add in daily use. The live view works without a plan.
Petlibro offers a 90-day money-back guarantee on the Granary 2 series when you buy from its official UK store. Items must be returned with all original packaging, and return shipping is deducted from the refund if the product is not faulty. The UK store notes that subscriptions are PayPal only. The store was running an early Black Friday promotion when I checked, so the price you pay may differ from the list prices above.
My advice is to look at which features you will really use in the app before you subscribe to anything, because I have not priced a plan whose length and options I could confirm.
Space and limits: what I would check before buying
You need to plan for the space. In our home the feeder quickly found its place on the floor. Kira used to eat up high, on a small piece of furniture, to protect her kibble from our dog. Since the dog left that is no longer needed, and the floor-level feeding corner is more practical for us.

I also noticed that a small light comes on at night. It is a nice detail for spotting the feeder in the dark.
My main reservation is the budget. The camera and the tracking are worth it if you check them regularly. If you only want meals at fixed times, the extra cost deserves some thought. And if one cat must avoid another cat’s kibble, the open bowl of the Vision does not solve that.
Granary 2, Vision, Duo or X: which version should you choose?
Here is how I would position the models on the official UK Granary 2 page. I only used the Vision; the other lines help place its price and features.
| Model | Price (4 November 2026) | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Granary 2 | £139.99 | Intake tracking for one cat, no camera |
| Granary 2 Vision | £229.99 | Camera and a single bowl, the model I tested |
| Granary 2 Vision Duo | £249.99 | Two bowls with independent weighing, aimed at two cats on the same diet |
| Granary 2 X | Not yet on sale | Listed as coming soon, with a notify-me form and a £1 reservation voucher |
Prices are before promotions. The Vision adds £90 to the standard Granary 2, and in my case the photos and the chance to see Kira are what justify that gap. The Duo suits a two-bowl setup. Check availability and the colour you want before ordering.

My verdict on the Petlibro Granary 2 Vision
I am really happy with this find. The Granary 2 Vision brings real comfort to our day: Kira can eat at her own times even when we are out or still asleep, and I can follow her meals from my phone.

I enjoy the photo from each visit and the information on how much she ate. These go beyond a simple automatic feeder. On the other hand, I also keep in mind the price, the regular refills and the paid services. My opinion is about everyday convenience with Kira, not about long-term reliability, which I have not measured.
No more begging, the kitchen is open even when we are not home!

Frequently asked questions
Petlibro Granary 2 Vision review: your questions answered
Is the Petlibro Granary 2 Vision worth the money?
For me, yes, because of the combination of automatic meals, photos and tracking in the app. At the prices I checked on 4 November 2026, the Vision was £229.99, against £139.99 for the camera-free Granary 2. I would only pay the £90 difference if you will actually look at the photos and live view. Add the desiccant bags, and a video or Care plan if you want those features.
Do I need a subscription to use it?
No. The UK store says no subscription is needed to use a Petlibro feeder, and scheduled meals, Smart Refill Mode and the manual feed button all worked for me without one. Recording and replaying video needs a Video Cloud AI plan, and alerts about changes in eating habits need Petlibro Care.
Can I give each cat a different ration?
No. The Vision has a single open bowl, and identifying a pet does not stop other cats from eating from it. I only tested it with one cat, so I do not present it as a way to separate diets.
Does it work in a power cut?
Petlibro advertises up to 48 hours of backup battery on the Vision. Without internet, scheduled meals continue but remote control does not. I have not tested either safeguard.
Is the portion exact to the gram?
No. The scale tracks the weight in the bowl, while the mechanism dispenses approximate portions of about 1/12 cup. The app can show grams, but the two functions are separate.
Can I save video to an SD card?
No. Petlibro says the feeder has no SD card slot. You can watch live without a plan, but recording and playback need Video Cloud AI.
Can it feed wet food?
No. Petlibro says the Granary 2 series is designed for dry kibble only.
How often do I change the desiccant bags?
Petlibro recommends changing them every 14 days and using two at a time. An 8-pack lasts about eight weeks at that pace.
What is the difference between the Granary 2, Vision and Vision Duo?
The Granary 2 has a scale but no camera. The Vision adds the camera and has one bowl. The Vision Duo has two bowls with independent weighing, aimed at two cats on the same diet. I only used the Vision.
What warranty and return period come with it?
Petlibro lists a 24-month warranty that does not override your statutory rights, and a 90-day money-back guarantee on the Granary 2 series when bought from its official store. Read the conditions on the store before ordering.
