Summer has finally come to the UK, and while we’re not quite in August yet, this month’s Slice of Summer is the perfect way to celebrate the hot weather!

The little booklet includes all kinds of fun stuff.

There’s a full list and descriptions of all the goodies in the box.

Also a guide to Japan in the summer!

I’m very happy it see another bag of KitKats this month! This time they are Salt and Lemon Kit Kats which are refreshing sweet-sour lemon with a little salt, with a creamy white chocolate coating. This is a terrific flavour for summer, and not one you’re likely to see anywhere else!

Tohato Caramel Corn is another familiar favorite, and this time it’s in refreshing ramune flavour. Ramune is Japanese soda pop, quite a distinctive and delicious flavour. Japanese caramel corn isn’t like popcorn, is more like sweet very crispy corn puffs, and is yummy.

Pepsi Refresh Shot is this month’s featured snack.

As you can see it’s got an extra kick of caffeine, which should really get you going if you’re starting to flag!

This is Pokemon Sun and Moon Gum, which is grape flavoured gumballs.

These are a pack of Fruit Gummies. As and extra bonus, they’re in the actual shape of the fruit!

More fruity flavours, here is a pot of Mandarin Orange Gummies. Again they’re in the shape of orange segments, and are made with real fruit juice. The packaging is super cute too!

Now we have a completely different flavour experience, Calbee Wasabi Potato Chips. If you’re a fan of the spicy Japanese horseradish you’ll love these crisps! Plus they’re great for clearing out the sinuses if you catch a summer cold.

Strawberry Soft Serve might look like an ice cream, but it’s actually a sweet-sour strawberry marshmallow in a wafer cone. Very cute!

Another savory snack, these are called Texas Corn Salty. I’ve got no idea why they should be named after Texas, but they are lovely salty corn puffs, just right with a cold drink.

This month’s sharing pack are Crab Biscuits with four little packs to share or keep for yourself! The biscuits themselves are in the shape of little sea creatures, but I can’t actually tell if the crab part is just the shape or if they’re crab flavoured as well! I’m going to have to skip these as I’m allergic (and can’t risk trying them) but I know lots of people who will definitely appreciate them, they’re so adorable!

We’ve got another grape item here, this time Grape Ramune Candies. The packaging is is the shape of a traditional ramune soda bottle, and these little fizzy sweets are delicious.

This month’s DIY Candy Kit is called Coris Fruit Shop Soft Candy DIY.

The menu booklet gives you a translation of the instructions, and as you can see you get soft candy and a mould to make tiny fruits, and then a little cardboard display stand that looks like a fruit stand. Such a fun idea!

Umaibo is a very famous Japanese snack. It’s a puffed corn stick, and they come in lots of different flavours. This month’s is Lemon Flavour, which is a special flavour for summer.

Finally, another adorable candy, this little plastic strawberry contains strawberry flavoured ramune candy powder!

Our score: 9.4/ 10

I love all the fruity flavours this month! They're a great selection for summer, and I especially enjoy have the grape flavour candies, because it's not a flavour you often find in the UK. The wasabi crisps are also extra delicious, I really love that taste and I've never had them as crisps before! The lemon salt KitKat are especially nice to have, it sounds strange but the taste combination works brilliantly! Japanese Kitkats are the best, and I'm always happy to see a bag in TokyoTreat. This is a great assortment of delicious things to eat, very seasonal and summery, with plenty of variety.
