nomakenolife – nmnl Japanese and Korean Beauty – May 2020

Nomakenolife contains 8 – 9 items of cosmetic, hair, and skincare products from both Japan and Korea, two places which are very serious about their beauty products.

They have one-, three-, six-, and 12-month subscriptions costing from $35 (around £27) for one month (longer subscriptions are cheaper). Shipping is free.

This could possibly be one of the most fun themes I’ve see yet: Geeky & Gorgeous!

I especially like the sound of the Sanrio and Kirby items, I can’t wait to see that’s inside.

The menu booklet shows everything in the box, along with advice about how to use them and all the different options available. You can also see from the flag which items are Japanese or Korean.

Kirby Moisturizing Cream can be used both on face and body. The packaging design comes in one of nine versions, all inspired by famous Japanese locations. I have Nagoya, with Kirby sitting on a fish, symbol of the famous fish market. One of the lovely things about this item, apart from the cream itself, is the cute tin! After the cream is it can be cleaned out and kept as a lovely little storage tin.

Fate Grean Order x Sanrio Coloured Eyeliner. This is a great collaboration between Sanrio and the famous Japanese game. There are six possible colours available, and I have this fun and funky pink colour. This is also a mechanical eyeliner, so it simply twists up as it wears down.

This Kirby Iridescent Pouch is a really fun accessory.

It opens from either end with poppers, and is perfect for storing brushes. It is transparent but with a lovely pearly iridescent sheen for an extra cute look!

This Jin x Gudetama Sheet Mask features my favourite every kawaii character! Sanrio has collaborated with Akanishi Jin, a Japanese celebrity who is a J-pop singer and actor. The mask contains rice extract for moisturising and elasticity, and it actually smells like pancakes!

Another cute accessory! This time we have a Sumikko Girashi Towel. This cute towel can be used as a portable handtowel or as a face cloth at home. It’s lovely and soft and features the adorable Sumikko characters, and comes in a pink or blue version.

It’s not often you see Warner Brothers characters here, but this cute Etude House c Tom & Jerry Look At My Eyes Eyeshadow features on of the cutest characters: Jerry the mouse! He’s one of nine different options, and I have the shimmery red-brown colour here.

Etude House Black Charcoal Chin Pack is one of those peel-off patches designed to clear your pores and smooth the skin. This one is specially shaped for the chin area.

Finally, a Berrisom Petite Pocket. These are small skincare pouches of various types, including moisturizer and toner. I’ve got the Vita Berry Foam, a  lovely foaming face cleanser. I’m a big fan of Korean and Japanese foaming cleansers, as they are both very effective and beautifully light. The cute pouch is resealable, and would also be very useful for travelling.

Our score: 9.6/ 10

This month's theme is so much fun! I love the different cartoon characters, they really add an extra dimension to the different products. I can't work out if the skincare pouch or the face mask is my favourite this month. It's also fantastic to have two really useful accessories, especially as they both have such a great cute factor. The only item I'm less keen on in the chin patch, mainly because I find those patches aren't great for sensitive skin. But it's a very small criticism, as this is one of the best selections I've seen yet from Nomakenolife, and the combination of geek and skincare is a real winner!
