My Little Box – May 2016 review

I hope everyone’s enjoying this glorious sunshine that we’re having in the UK?! This month’s My Little Box arrived on my doorstep over the weekend and is full of holiday-friendly beauty & fashion goodies. Let’s see what’s inside!

The theme for May’s My Little Box is ‘Dolce Vita’ with a focus on Rome and summer holidays in Italy – that’s definitely a sign of living the good life in my books! The monthly My Little World reflects the theme perfectly with a special curation of Italian features such as the best restaurants to visit in Florence, a fun explanation of different pasta shapes, a gorgeous fashion editorial spread, and of course delicious photographs and recipes of Italian food! That pasta dish on the cover is looking good…

Underneath the magazine, I found the first item in the box – a pretty Kanako print that says ‘Everything Sounds Better In Italian’ with accompanying illustrations. A cute print to frame for your vanity table perhaps?

There are two lifestyle/fashion products this month and they are the best I’ve received so far in the time I’ve been reviewing the My Little Boxes on here. Inside a box named ‘Rome Is On My Mind’ there’s a summery turban/scarf, with a bright turquoise blue print on it (worth £11). How perfect would this be to wear whilst riding around on a Vespa?!

The other lifestyle product is a gorgeous goldtone, adjustable leaf laurel ring (worth £12) that comes boxed with the message ‘Ciao Bella’. I’ve never received jewellery in a subscription box before so this was a lovely surprise and just my style too. Both items feel good quality and well-made.

IMG_3486Moving onto the beauty products this month, I received three in the illustrated drawstring pouch bag. The first one that I pulled out was a My Little Beauty own-brand product – an Illuminating BB Moisturiser for Legs (full size and worth £8). I’m a big fan of BB creams for my face and like using tinted body moisturisers to give my skin a touch of colour, so I’m looking forward to trying this one out. There’s also a really useful how-to guide in the magazine with tips and advice on how to get the best out of this product which is always appreciated! IMG_3498

The second beauty item is a handbag sized bottle of perfume (8.5ml) from the high-end fragrance house, Courreges, called ‘La Fille De L’Air’. Described as ‘sparkling notes of Bergamot and bewitching Orange Blossom’, it smells strongly floral, summery and sophisticated. For those interested, the full-size 50ml bottle of this perfume retails for £69 so this is a great way to try it out before deciding to splurge.

IMG_3500My favourite out of the three beauty products this month is this Baija Croisiere Celadon Body Oil which is almost full size (it’s 30ml whereas the full size is 50ml, retailing for £16.90). Not only is the glass bottle and print packaging simply stunning, but this body oil smells truly exquisite with notes of Green Tea and Jasmine coming through. I can’t wait to use this in my next pampering session! My Little Box have also included a special 20% off deal for all subscribers on the whole Baija collection until the 10th June.

I really love this month’s box and look forward to using everything in it. If you like what you see, you can subscribe to My Little Box UK for just £11 plus £3.95 P&P per month. For more info visit mylittlebox.co.uk
