Mask Time – January 2018

Sheet masks are one of my favourite skincare treats to indulge and pamper in, and the original Korean beauty brands do the best sheet masks of course! They can be a little difficult to find here in the UK though, so if you want to get your authentic sheet mask fix every month, why not try out Mask Time?

Mask Time are a monthly subscription box that sends you a surprise selection of Korean sheet masks and you really get a lot in your box as you can expect to receive 8-10 sheet masks every month, plus some K-beauty skincare or cosmetics samples. Postage is free in the UK and I think this is one of the best skincare boxes around!

The latest Mask Time box is all about ‘New Year, New Skin’ and has a focus on hydration and revitalising skin that needs a boost of moisture. I couldn’t wait to see what was inside! The box is beautifully presented and there’s a handy leaflet inside which details all of the sheet masks that are included that month.

Let’s get stuck in!

The Face Shop Real Nature Kelp Mask (RRP £2.50)

This is a soothing face mask from The Face Shop’s Real Nature range and it includes an extract of Laminaria Japonica which is an edible seaweed native to the waters of East Asia. Seaweed has many health benefits so I was curious to try a mask like this as it’s been shown to help eliminate impurities and promote hydration by strengthening the skin’s natural barrier. I really enjoyed using this one – it was definitely moisturising and left my skin feeling much softer afterwards.

SNP Fresh Vita C Jelly Mask (RRP £2.50)

Vitamin C is a fantastic ingredient to look out for in skincare and this mask is full of antioxidants found in ascorbic acid, which help to brighten and revitalise tired and dull skin. It certainly does the job and gave me a noticeable brighter glow – lovely stuff and perfect if you’re suffering from a hangover and need to look your best!

Leaders Insolution Aquablend Oil Pocket Mask (RRP £4.50)

You can tell instantly from the packaging that this is a premium/luxury mask! It contains five key ingredients to seriously nourish your skin; Macadamia Seed Oil, Olive Fruit Oil, Argan Oil, Jojoba Seed Oil and Alba Truffle Oil (Italian White Truffle). It’s quite different from other sheet masks as you have to press a Truffle Oil pocket in the middle of the mask which blends it throughout the sheet, but I loved using it as the hydration results were so good.

Youth Over Flower Iceland Aqua Pass Mask (RRP £3.50)

Specially developed and targeted at those who have very dry skin, this sheet mask uses Icelandic Glacier Water to balance the moisture and oil levels in the skin, which instantly revitalises, soothes and adds a shot of nourishment to even the driest complexion. Perfect for this freezing cold weather we’re currently experiencing here in the UK.

Tony Moly Tako Pore One Shot Nose Pack (RRP £3)

How cute is this guy?! I was expecting this to be a nose strip, but it’s actually much bigger and covers the forehead too, so the top of your T-Zone gets a whole treatment. It does a great job of removing blackheads and excess sebum for clearer skin, so ideal for those who have an oily skin type.

Boh Air Jet Daily Mask (RRP £2.50)

Infused with Hyaluronic Acid which locks in as much moisture as possible into the skin, this thin 0.2mm mask helps to regenerate collagen and elastin whilst retaining moisture at the same time. It left my skin feeling thoroughly plumped up and hydrated, plus I felt it looked younger and brighter too.

Verite Real Power Cool Down Mask (RRP £3)

Designed for skin that has been neglected during the festive Christmas and New Year holidays, this mask has been formulated to give your skin some much needed TLC. It contains Madecasoside which is known for its soothing benefits, as well as Calamine, Tea Tree Leaf Extract, Lavender Oil and Damask Rose Oil, for the perfect post-party pick me up.

Mediheal Stress Zero Solution Soothing Care Mask (RRP £3.50)

If your skin is feeling stressed or sensitive, this soothing mask is the ideal treatment to try as it helps to reduce irritation and inflammation within a matter of minutes. It uses the natural antibacterial properties of Tea Tree to combat blemishes, whilst Centella Asiatica works it’s anti-ageing magic thanks to being rich in amino acids, beta-carotene and phytochemicals. A really good way to calm and boost stressed skin.

Missha Pure Source Celle Sheet Mask in Rice (RRP £2.50)

Next up, this compact woven cell sheet mask is infused with the active ingredients of twice fermented Rice which means that the essence is nutrient-rich, plus there’s Phytic Acid and Chitosan to deeply moisturise and soothe the skin. I loved this one as it made my skin feel as soft as silk afterwards!

Etude House Black Hydrogel Eye Patch (RRP £3.50)

How cute is this?! From Etude House, this is their popular Black Hydrogel Eye Patch which makes you look like a superhero! It helps to firm and nourish the delicate eye area, whilst a range of oils plump up fine lines, and there’s a whitening ingredient to help combat dark circles. Love it!

Etude House Honey Jelly Lips Patch (RRP £3.50)

Also from Etude House, I found a jelly based mask for dry lips. Infused with Propolis and Royal Jelly, this lip mask leaves even the driest and chapped lips, feeling nourished and moisturised. You can also use it under a sheet mask for maximum pampering benefits which is what I did.

It’s Skin Boarding Pass Kit (RRP £3.90)

The last product is a clever ‘Skin Boarding Pass’ which is a special bonus item – yay! It has three different patches; a cleansing tissue to remover makeup, a toner sheet to soothe and prep skin for moisturiser, and a moisture cream to keep skin hydrated from the drying effects of flying. I can’t wait to use this on my next trip!

At the bottom of the box, I also found two K-Beauty skincare samples; a sachet of Crecell Ultimate Intensive Aquacatch Cream and A’Pieu Power Block Daily Sun Cream SPF 50.
