The July LookFantastic box is here and it’s…fantastic! The July box features seven items from a range of brands including Nuxe, Sleek Makeup, Balance Me and more, a few of which I haven’t tried before. I love the new box designs as they are monotoned and simple, which is so aesthetically pleasing to me! As with the June 2020 box, the July box doesn’t contain the usual booklet. However, it will be emailed to subscribers.
I wanted to update my review of the July 2020 box as there might be a little confusion about the contents of the box. There are two variations of the July box and I have the second variation but you may receive the first selection of products which differ from this review. Visit the LookFantastic to see the products you may receive.
Nuxe Multi-Correction Gel Cream
I’ll start with the skincare items in the box as there are five, two of which are from Nuxe. Nuxe is a French skincare brand that I absolutely love, including their body products, fragrance and skincare. The multi-correction cream helps to protect the skin from external stresses, fade the appearance of the first signs of ageing and helps to reveal radiant, fresh skin.
Balance Me Vitamin C Repair Serum
The second skincare item is from Balance Me which is a brand I’ve tried in previous beauty boxes and enjoyed. The serum contains 99.8% natural ingredients, it is vegan friendly and the brand is cruelty free which is fantastic. It has a super smooth texture and fresh scent that makes it a lovely addition to my summer skincare routine.
So Eco Charcoal Sponge
I’ve wanted to try a konjac sponge for a while so I was happy to find one in the July box. There are a few variations available of this sponge but the charcoal option was included in the box. It is designed for oily or spot prone skin which is what my skin has been for the first time in around 15 years. I’ve only used it a couple of times to so far and while it is a little strange to use, I am enjoying it as a super quick and easy form of cleansing.
Next up is a mini mask from Nuxe which comes in the cutest pink packaging. It is an exfoliating mask that contains natural exfoliating particles as well as rose water and macadamia oil. I’ve only used the mask once and it was a strange experience as it feels much more like a scrub than mask and it has a bizarre gloopy consistency. However, it smells lovely and it left my skin feeling incredibly soft and smooth.
Erno Laszlo Eye Serum Mask
Finally for skincare, an eye serum mask/patches from Erno Laszlo. I tried a few products from this brand as part of a previous limited edition box from LookFantastic and liked pretty much everything so I’m happy to try more. I have been using so many face masks and treatments during lockdown so I can’t wait to try these.
Le Couvent Des Minimes Aqua Sacrae Soap
The penultimate item is yet another heavenly scented product. It’s a mini (50g) soap from the French brand Le Couvent Des Minimes which seems to be a brand or institution that has been making soap since 1614! The scent is ‘aqua sacrae’ and it smells utterly wonderful – floral, powdery and comforting. I am definitely intrigued by this brand and I want to try more.
Sleek Makeup Matte Me Lip Cream
Last but not least is a makeup item which seems a little out of place within the box but I’m not complaining. I used to love Sleep makeup especially their palettes but I haven’t tried much else. The lip cream comes in the shade ‘French Fancy’ which is a vivid pink shade. Sadly, it isn’t the most flattering on my pale skin tone but it would be great for others during the summer months.
