I Love Gin is a popular monthly subscription box for, you’ve guessed it, gin lovers! Every month, you’ll receive two mini bottles of artisan/small batch gin to try out, alongside two bottles of premium mixers/tonic waters, so that’s enough to make four delicious G&T’s in the comfort on your own home.
The box arrives carefully packaged with cushioning to protect the bottles and I’ve never had any breakages or spillages in the several months that I’ve been receiving the boxes for review.
There is a different theme each month and September’s is called The Hebridean Spirit Box so let’s take a closer look at the goodies!
Colonsay Dry Gin (50ml, 47%)
In this box, there are two exciting products to try out from Colonsay Gin which was launched just two years ago by two entrepreneurs who set up Wild Thyme Spirits. They left their lives in Oxfordshire behind and moved to the Isle of Colonsay for a new adventure, with Colonsay Gin being the result. Having recently signed an exclusive agreement with the Colonsay Estate giving them the sole rights to hand forage for wild botanicals on the estate, their multi-award winning London dry style gin benefits from these locally sourced ingredients. This gin is inspired by the unforgiving beauty and nature of the island, entwined with mythical Celtic folklore for a truly unique peppery and sweet flavour with Juniper, Angelica, Calamus Root and Coriander.
Colonsay Bramble Gin Liqueur (50ml, 20%)
All-natural and all delicious, this intriguing Bramble Gin Liqueur has a base of the classic Colonsay Dry Gin above, infused with wild pressed Blackberries that works well with a range of different cocktail recipes – amazing!
Poacher’s Classic Premium Irish Tonic Water (200ml)
To complement the Colonsay gins, there are two different types of premium tonic waters to try out with them. First up is Poacher’s, a premium Irish tonic water which is made using hand-cut Irish herbs and spring water from County Meath. It’s crisp and clean for a high-quality G&T experience!
Franklin & Sons Ltd Elderflower Tonic Water with Cucumber (200ml)
For a more contemporary flavour, we have Franklin & Sons’ Elderflower Tonic Water which is blended with refreshing Cucumber for a thirst-quenching mixer that goes with well with Colonsay Bramble Gin Liqueur.
